In my experience you can't really teach anyone "people skills". You learn that from experience and at so many different levels; family, work, social etc. If they're not team players then you need to accept that.

I don't think there's another high street in any town or village on the Island where it's as bad as in PSM.

The road is fecked and it needs replacing. Simple. Been like that for some considerable time. There's really no excuse.

When they eventually re-engineer the road they might want to think about putting a cobbled surface down. It would be more in keeping with the immediate built environment, help reduce traffic speed and where some blocks fail due to subsidence can be replaced relatively quickly.

Wouldn't surprise me if the latest lot of tiles that were installed were Turkish. Millions of tiles/ceramics a month manufactured over there, most of which are cheap and substandard.

Is he actually an employee of Manx Care (or DHSC) or is he a paid contractor? I suspect the latter and he'll be billing his time/services to whoever will be happy to pay him! It's possible he may be double dipping. Since the Magson/Ranson affair I do not trust any words that come out of IOMG or MC on employment matters.

There's nothing wrong with Peel as it is, apart from a few buildings either needing whitewashing/painting and generally tarted up. It's neither the Cote d'Azur or Sydney Harbour. It doesn't need granite paving or kerb stones (although I suspect it's too late for that). It's an underused Manx fishing port. It's fine the way it is.

I'm on the MXM now and about an hour or so out of Heysham. Blackpool Tower clearly visible. The 09:15 departure has been known for at least a week to me when I started looking at options. Tomorrow's (Friday) departure ex Douglas is fully booked for vehicles.
