  1. Rumour has it that its set up for baptism events to attract tourists to Laxey They would have done it at Douglas, but would have needed another 100 meters to get passed the seaweed
  2. But who's nicked the diving board? lol Perhaps only one side of railings should have been used to allow people to get off when they want instead of jumping off at the end?
  3. Anyway, I quite like Rob Callister as he listens to his constituents and plays it as best as he can considering there's often two or more sides to a story. He and a few other MHK's attended the PAG meeting earlier in the week regards being aware of 5G technology and I thought it was good to see him there as its important that he and others become more knowledgeable and concerned regards modern technology these days. I even like his Blog and must spend lots of 'free time' writing an account of his busy day. I understand that he does a lot of research about whatever topic he wishes to talk about which I find commendable. So nice job Rob, keep it up and cya at the polling station next time round
  4. Sorry to hear of the lack of response to BB. You might want to try with Manx Blind Welfare as they have been building a new 'sensory garden' with planting based on smells (there will be other things, but have little knowledge about it), some type of pet remembrance theme and have been buying new vehicles to replace old stock. Good to see them (no pun intended) looking to enhance their clients needs. Ian Cooil is the person doing this and is always looking for help, whether its drivers, admin, shop work or basic DIY. 5. I've never seen it but good advice all the same
  6. I still think they should have put access tunnels under the prom at 100 metre intervals and then all pipework, electrics, whatever, can be connected along the sidewalk to the access tunnels. Once all connected, the road should have been dug up, strengthened and tarmac laid over the top with no further need to cut/dig a hole in the new tarmac as like said, all the pipework goes through the access tunnels. Ah well....A pipe dream Hah
  7. Loads of local charities to select. https://www.gov.im/media/1352988/publicindex_latest.pdf Popular ones are Hospice, Crossroads, Manx Blind Welfare, Beach Buddies, Friends of the Earth although there's lots more.
  8. Its amazing that a bunch of politicians go against the public who voted to come out of EU. I can see the same thing happening again as politicians will still take a no deal. Bottom line is that they should come out of Brexit and Boris should say to the LIberals, Labour, Conservatives for them to come up with the best deal on leaving brexit. If no deal could be done, then leave without any deal and pick up the pieces later. I'm sure Trump and Boris will get on great and lots of deals done between their car manufacturers and so on. They should use an incentive scheme of saying that for every day there's no deal, then politicians lose £10 a day each ... lol By crikey, that would get them moving

I'm looking forward to it opening again although likely to be packed. Ideal place to go on a rainy day which is ironic in a way as the baths is the place to go to get wet

No doubt only a coincidence to the high cancer rate with the trial run of 5G in that area.. No need for replies as you'd never find proof of where it came from anyway. https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20181105005578/en/Turkey’s-Live-5G-Trial-Performed-Turkcell-Samsung
  11. Nothing to do with Global Warming then?
  12. You are correct pongo and had to include the year so that people are aware that the Government was looking at introducing this into the public domain without consulting them which IMO, was irresponsible and might open themselves to legal action in the future. Basically, no product should be introduced into the public domain without having been fully safety tested and using people as guinea pigs for testing purposes is not on whether its in this country or anywhere else! Safe communication technology yes, unknown communication technology then No.
  13. I believe so Banned - https://news.alphastreet.com/countries-that-have-banned-huawei-from-their-5g-plans/
  14. https://sputniknews.com/business/201812271071029623-us-president-trump-huawei-order/ Trump May Ban US Firms From Cooperating With Huawei. The developments come after the US reportedly urged its allies in November to abandon the use of Huawei due to security concerns. The International Centre for Technology is set to be opened in mid-2015 by the Manx Educational Foundation (MEF) in collaboration with HP and Huawei and it is hoped that its 40 acre campus will be used to test 5G technology. How will this affect relations with US companies?
