Deejay Denzel Posted May 20, 2007 Share Posted May 20, 2007 I've heard that they can't proceed any more with the demolition because it would make the cliff too unstable and the houses above it might fall down. So it might end up looking like even more of an eyesore for the next few years. They stopped the demolition where they did because there is every chance that the end of the gardens may collapse. During demolition, there were complaints about cracks appearing in garden walls. They decided to leave the section you see now which they think may be supporting a compacted soil/stone bulkhead. In the past these soil/stone areas have collapsed by the carpark, above the old managers flat and above the aquadrome close to the dividing wall with the Piazza level.
