The Wave - New Project For Old Summerland Site

Rumour has it that the Sefton Group have or may be pulling out of the Summerland site due to contamination of the ground and the Government's refusal to sort the unstable rock face out.

Yup, our office has heard the same thing, ground contaminated with asbestos. Saying that, it could well just be your typical Manx rumour, but given when the building was erected it wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I'm not quite sure I understand how that can happen if the building was demolished by a contractor. Presumably the contractor would have had prior knowledge about the asbestos and would have been licensed for the removal of asbestos / demolition involving asbestos and the clearing of any asbestos contamination subsequently left on the site?

Specialists removed the asbestos before the demolition commenced

Maybe their Skint., Ive heard their already into the banks for £40 million, could be wrong.

Could end up like The Government and AskethHall and the Bus Station Hotel, both Skint.

We should now have plenty of Land to graze the White Elephants

Or indeed an ideal site for my long mooted yet derided Manx Museum of Felt.

Felt making throughout history.

Live felt making demonstrations.

A waxworks depicting famous people with their favourite felt item

A shop selling felt products.

Yes and also Mister Felt, a delightful capering chap who will make the children laugh with his silly felt related japes and feltmobile car made entirely of felt.
