I don’t think anyone has forgotten but it was a long time ago, in a completely different world of buildings regs, insurance and health and safety and simply couldn’t happen these days (apart from in China. Yes imagine a fire spreading because builders had used completely unsuitable materials and more than 50 deaths resulting. It could only happen somewhere far away with lax building regulations. This is a damning testimony to the lack of governance on the island, that they would allow demolition, or even deliberately force it, to stick the spokes into any future use of a site by other operators. What has happened to progress this site in that time other than for it to be used as a depot for Promenade project materials? I've screenshot what I felt to be an apt exchange, with the benefit of hindsight. Whose prediction was more accurate at the time? I wonder how many people within Govt with responsibility for taking the Island and such sites forward have departed with wheelbarrow capacity pensions in this 13 years?
