HeliX
Regardless of how you feel about Apple, Steve Jobs was undoubtedly the best salesman in the entire IT industry. R.I.P, a true loss.

Chinahand
The impact of technology on our lives has a huge influence on social change. As a result Steve Jobs was one of the most influential people on earth. I use my ipod daily, was brought up using an Apple II, use itunes, my work uses Macs (as well as PCs). Jobs realized that the interface to technology is the most important thing - he understood it far better than Bill Gates, and most other silicon valley whizzes - think of Dos vrs Mac, or the usability of itunes to many internet sites. The man was pure creativity and had an almost superhuman drive; and boy did he achieve. Death comes to all of us, but its come painfully early for one of the planet's most innovative minds. He saw opportunity and rode it for all that it was worth, and carried on even as a failing body took its toll on a beautiful mind. He will be remembered - "a man's not dead while his name is spoken."* *Terry Pratchett
