Vorta
I am dead against kiddy porn. And when clicking this post was hoping it was against it too. Glad to find it is. Sort off. However. Boring books would be a bit more interesting if random pages of adult content were scatter amongst their pages.
thommo2010
Not really hardcore porn is it. theres no pictures its just words kids will probably see worse watching Coronation Street or Eastenders.
HeliX
Oh it was just text? Kids can't read anyway, what's the problem.
loaf
Interesting way to accidentally raise the profile of the book and potentially boost sales.
In fact . . .
So the BBC is reporting last week's news? http://www.iomtoday.co.im/news/isle-of-man-news/hard-core-porn-found-in-manx-children-s-book-1-5496614

Boring books would be a bit more interesting if random pages of adult content were scatter amongst their pages. Not even about kiddy porn though, is it? This is about adult porn in a children's book. Nowhere near as bad. Just amusing.
manxman1980
It would be interesting to know how modern day printing techniques led to this outcome? LDV - Have you been sabotaging the printing press in order to set about the decline of another capitalist publisher?
Lonan3
The title of the thread is probably a good way of keeping Cross ross out of it - he knows that they will be aware you've clicked on a link to something called that!
Roger Mexico
This is a wonderful example of how Isle of Man Newspapers will always do its best to promote a non-story ahead of anything else. This was the lead story in last Thursday's Manx Independent under the headline "Hard-core porn in book for kids" with the sub-head "It's raising money for children's hospice". This was about a fantasy novel being sold in aid of Rebecca House. An examination of this "story" leads to the fact that two copies of the book in question have turned out to have a batch of pages bound in by mistake which contained some text from some pornographic short stories. There is no evidence that any other copies of the book have been affected (the printer reckoned it would be a maximum of six). The first corrupt copy was discovered in January 2012 and the second last month, so you can see that nothing but the most up-to-date news will do for our local press. P.K.
There is nothing easy about "imping" software. Get the imposition wrong for the folder/cutter/stitcher/whatever and the results can be a complete and utter dog's breakfast. As in this case. However it could be as simple as a previously buffered set of porno pages folded in to the start of the next book run. Which wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. thebees
Ha, I got it confused with that vanity publishing poetry book, same shit though, blah blah blah, look at me and how great I am to charity - well do it for free then and don't put yourself in the paper with your oversized cheque then. Pffft.
