There were thousands of bands formed by teenagers in America after the Beatles and the Stones. They often practiced in their parent's garage, hence the name. The best singles were compiled in several compilations in the Seventies and these were quite influential with punk bands. The second Primal Scream lp certainly draws from this influence.
