quilp
You said you suspected he didn't race to prove anything. Every time he races surely he's also doing it to prove he's top dog? Is that not the point of any competition?

quilp
The 50cc class was always a good spot. The little Suzi's and Gilera's had some scream...

quilp
Fuck giving me a clue, he still has to 'prove' himself nevertheless.

HeliX
Can't believe I wasted my time reading pages 2-6. What a mess.
quilp
Quite amazing that in 1966 the average lap speed of one of the 50cc bikes was 85.66 mph...
doc.fixit
............didn't they have a constant throttle and play tunes on the gearbox? I can't remember accurately but I seem to re-call a stop button and then change gear.......someone must know........

Or Electric which no one really cares about because that is all about the bike rather than the rider. And last year he knew he had virtually no chance of winning those races (unless Dunlop and Hutchy fell off). So he doesn't race to prove anything these days. You could argue a few years back he might have felt he had a point to prove (when he had a really poor week and came back and dominated the Senior) but he doesn't have anything to prove. He has a living to earn and enjoys it.
