So, looks like Jersey are ahead of the game in some respects: https://jerseyeveningpost.com/news/2018/09/19/check-your-passport-expiry-date-in-case-of-no-deal-brexit/

What is IOMG doing about it?

Nothing, because there isn’t anything to do. Jersey isn’t doing anything, either. It’s just a silly season newspaper story.

They confuse Schengen with the whole EU, for starters. No one knows what the position will be on 30 March, so no one knows whether we will need Visas, or passports with at least 6 months to run.

The mean miserable bastards in the Home Office have pulled a fast one for when we get the blue passports we could have had anyway.

If you were going on a cruise (perish the thought) or whatever some would insist on having so much validity on your passport, say 12 months. So if yours only had 7 months to run you could chop it in and get a new one that would expire in 10 years 7 months. This is because they would add on the current validity to the new one up to 9 months worth.

Well, they have surreptitiously stopped doing that just to kick you when you're down....

Yes there is.

IOMG should be reminding it's citizens to ensure their passports are current.

That's all.

Normal service on a passport is around £75 a passport. The weasels in government are probably looking forward to getting more when people suddenly realise they need the fast track service

If the scare stories on the news tonight re a leaked document claiming EU Airports not being able to guarantee flights/safety/regulations following a no-deal Brexit are true, the demand for passports might not be there....
