As his defence lawyer said,  “How many people would go on holiday and look at the laws of the land for where they are going? It’s a preposterous suggestion.”

not really ,  if you have a drone you should know the laws applicable to it , as he's from the UK he should  be well aware of UK drone flying laws which are similar here even without the TT , to come up with the foreign country defense is fanciful on a good day , the TT does bring in a no fly zone that isn't usually there but i suspect ( no evidence to back it up ) that even without the no fly zone that they would still in breach of the usual UK laws if they applied here and certainly in breach of our own ANO.  if he was a 'professional' drone pilot he would have known better and to check the laws in the first place.

We have been asked to try and find accommodation for someone who has decided to visit tomorrow at the last minute.

£500 a night at The Comis or £395 at The Ellan Vannin.  That’s it.

That is very busy for the last Friday night of the festival and would suggest the new extended format is working.

Maybe some of the campsites do have spaces, but anecdotally there seem to be more people doing shorter breaks spread right over the period

The Ellan Vannin appear to have some form as well though....

I suppose he would have kept the drone footage to himself and not tried to sell it on.

If you read it properly that is an idiot who booked in 2017 or 18 and they have been kind enough to keep holding his booking over and he keeps cancelling.

This year when he did want to use it they have quite rightly charged him the price increase that has accrued over the last few years.

They could have quite legitimately told him to do one years ago but as is often the way in a service industry have gone above and beyond to try and accommodate him and are now being slated by people who don’t know what they are talking about.

If you are looking for a hotel above a certain grade there's always going to be a problem at TT.  But that's only a small proportion of those coming for TT - only 19% stay in any grade of hotel or guest house, it's twice that for camping alone.  And they're going to be unrepresentative of TT visitors as a whole - much wealthier, less likely to be constrained by what Steam Packet sailings they can get.  So it's not an indication of the entire market either way.

The real question though is if concentrating attention to the weekends will hollow out the weeks.  You're better being full for 8 nights straight than 2 x 3 nights, even if it involves twice as many people.

More importantly why are red arrows delayed? Someone on promenade says medical emergency at airport?

Plane airlifting a patient to Liverpool was due to take off just as the Arrows were due to arrive. Was urgent, so they were delayed until the medical plane had cleared the area

Airport not directly involved though as I believe flights in and out had been told they would have to hold till red arrows finished. Unless it’s Air traffic control as they were on stand by for RA . They weren’t due to land at ronaldsway .
Note.  seen post above . That answers that . Thanks Kevster
