And now Sulby Claddagjs closed as well because they couldn't be arsed maintaining/repairing the facilities despite charging an annual fee to use them.

Apparently you can still camp, just not overnight.  Which surely wouldn't make it camping anymore?

will it be up and running again for TT??  or have they worked out the wardens cost more than the income?

Well the income this year appears it's going to be zero.

I think I heard them say on the radio it would be closed till September.  Who realistically camps after September though?

Seems it will take them 6 months to demolish and build a new toilet block.  Maybe something they should have done during the winter?

And it costing £50k+ a year to run and police (G4S) them.

Here's the actual press release with a bit more detail.  Apparently they've decided to demolish the "condemned toilet block" without deciding what they want to put in its place or what the future use of the site will be.  But don't worry, there will be 'consultations'.

Does anyone know how bad the toilet block actually was by the way?

Well you can’t have someone paying a premium price for a camping pitch and having a condemned poo.

Perhaps the Manx Development Corporation are going to redevelop the toilet block? I’m sure Minister Thomas will add his pearls of wisdom.

What consultation do you need? Survey? It’s a campsite and motor home/caravan site, it either needs the toilet block pulling down and rebuilding, or fixing the faults instead of demolishing. It seems IOMG like a song and dance production number.
