You'd think it would be harder to pursue genocidal policies in a time of ubiquitous social media, but it turns out that it's actually easier, if anything.

They may have a cunning master plan, but not much in the way of financial acuity.

Indeed. I'm surprised the defence advocate saw fit to even mention the seemingly-now-obligatory psychiatric report, if this was its conclusion. I wonder if these reports ever come back saying, "Nope, no mitigation whatsoever, the defendant is clearly just a wrong 'un."

Wonder when the fault was detected? As @CrazyDave implied above, it could well have been tested successfully last night but still failed when called upon this morning. You'd like to think any testing hadn't been left until the last minute, given the weather forecast. Also wonder what their documented RTO is after detection of a problem. (They may well have met that too, of course.)

Where does overall responsibility for "business continuity" lie at the airport, then? Even the simplest plans have to consider supplier chains and dependencies.

It's almost no effort to use a random VPN and highly variable anonymous emails. However, it's harder to block device "fingerprints": for example, mods should be able to tell what sort of phone/laptop etc. is being used, its operating system version, the browser etc., and this is much less likely to be variable and more likely to be fairly unique. They still won't know who it is IRL, but could possibly block new sign-ups from that combination. If someone does go to the trouble to cover up those tracks, that in itself could be grounds for blocking a new account. It would be more work for the mods, though, and as we see by the number of spambots that make it through registration it's simply not possible to catch them all.

Suspended sentence. Indecent DVDs, kids underwear and child-like sex doll found at former House of Keys candidate's home In supposed mitigation, "A psychiatric report said that Fowler suffered from Asperger’s Syndrome and likely Autism Spectrum Disorder, which contributed to the offending." Probably why he wanted to be an MHK.

Would the world be a better place if Britain had retained its Empire?

The one I remember went every morning rather than late in the afternoon, because it gave him time for an in-depth study of the Racing Post before he laid his bets.

Everybody knows that the dice are loaded, Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed, Everybody knows the war is over, Everybody knows the good guys lost, Everybody knows the fight was fixed, The poor stay poor, the rich get rich, That's how it goes, Everybody knows. Leonard Cohen

"Heading, 66, of Richmond Road, Ramsey, said he was not fixated or obsessive, and added that he has contacted hundreds of people, with 3 to 5% of his output mentioning Dr Glover." That's not really the killer defence he thinks it is. What's the likely/maximum sentence here?

It's in Summary Court, I don't think they actually have juries? Although it could still be committed to a higher court at some point.

Advice the accused would do well to heed.

At least they didn't write "Ransom". (The second most annoying misspelling among the semi-functional illiterates on IOMN&P, only beaten by CM "Cannon".)

You meant "diet", right?

Saudi Arabia v Abu Dhabi? No thanks.

Are you saying they just use "Theft" because of the snazzy acronym?

"However, the new software provider was subject to a ‘serious cyber-attack’, which remains unresolved for more than a month." Any idea who this "new software provider" is?

See also the Boeing 737 Max. If an actual aircraft falling from the sky wasn't warning enough, what chance did the sub-postmasters have.

Sorry, I couldn't find one that said Ms Pedantic

The report is far less damning on this point than might have been implied. Saying it was "staged" is very far removed from saying it was "forged".
