  1. Vote for ME. I'll get things done. Fairly useless things, admittedly. Maybe. Eventually.
  2. Saucer of milk for the Douglas rate payer
  3. I thought it might have warranted a disappointed article on the, shall we euphemistically call them "foibles", of the IOM planning process. I suppose it's all been done before, though.
  4. The Manx Taxpayers' Alliance is uncharacteristically quiet on this news, so far...
  5. I think manxman1980 hit on the truth last week: I mean, it's still desperate deflection tactics from a doomed party, but if that's all they've got...
  6. Careful now, you don't want to fall foul of any multidimensional edicts, enforced by the Legion!
  7. The Rodney King affair hadn't left too much doubt about that.
  8. Definitely not Sasha Baron-Cohen. I think he'd be quite offended by that comparison as he REALLY doesn't seem to like Jews very much. Speaking of rabbit holes, I just spent 5 minutes scanning down Shem Heather Allanson's page. It is actually genuinely frightening to think that such complete and utter fuckwits walk among us. Here's one of my favourite posts from February:
  9. This nuthatch I presume, given the content and the presence of certain other Manx cuckoo birds on the page? Not least this one, who has some first hand knowledge of prison cuisine...
  10. "Mrs H" had better get used to it, because I can see Mr H becoming a habitual resident of HMP Jurby. He's too far down too many rabbit holes, and his wife is obviously reinforcing his delusions rather than trying to help rein them in.
  11. Digital Isle, AI Centre of Excellence, etc.
  12. I wonder what the Minimum Viable Product for the prom was. On second thought, I'm glad I don't know.
  13. Just as well there wasn't a cat in it, or it would definitely have been dead!
  14. I received a small packet on Wednesday 3rd April, posted on Monday 25th March using Royal Mail 48. So, 9 days rather than the "estimated 2 or 3 days" description of that service. (In fairness, this included the Easter weekend.) I couldn't tell you whether the delay was Royal Mail or IOM, because according to the tracking the package is still in Belfast.
  15. It was a rhetorical question, and I'm fairly sure I already know the answer. Speaking of rhetorical, after the attack on their embassy in Syria imagine that Iran came into possession of a few dirty bombs and told the inhabitants of Jerusalem or Tel Aviv they had a week to be elsewhere, then detonated the devices a few days early stating that IDF commanders in the area were war criminals and legitimate targets who were using civilians as human shields. Just as well Iran doesn't have any nuclear material, eh?
  16. Also, is there a definition for "suspected" in this context, or are those goalposts moveable at Israel's whim?
  17. Don't be so obviously disingenuous. https://www.bbc.com/news/av/world-middle-east-68706533
  18. If setting innocent civilians up in this way is totally amoral on the part of Hamas, what does that make the IDF and their political masters when they fire rockets at the hospitals? If Hamas genuinely don't care about the civilians (and you may well be right there) then Israel are giving them exactly what they set out to achieve on that awful day in October.
  19. Whoever did it last time was probably on holiday. Or it was diarised to be done on Monday morning, but because it was Easter that never happened. I mean, who could possibly have known in advance that a moveable feast could ever coincide with a clock change.
  20. The "law of war" tends to be applied retrospectively, long after the civilians are already dead and their towns destroyed. In the meantime: "Rules in a knife fight? There's no rules!"
  21. One of the best purchases I ever made was my noise-cancelling headphones. Eliminates tedious loud people of all nationalities.
  22. I reckon an AI with 5 minutes previous exposure to Manx Forums could have generated this entire thread in less than a millisecond. Who needs a £100k pa guru?
  23. Surely driving while impaired is still an offence, regardless of the source of whatever drug.
  24. The car park being rammed long predates the death of Shoprite. We'll see how much difference the new store opening makes in due course.
