Declan
Another Link I have just had a chat with Richard Goodwin, managing editor of theLondon Gazette. He advised that the announcement of Howe' claim was referred to the Government before publishing. However, it was felt that there was nothing in the announcement that would warrant it not being published in the Miscellaneous section of the Gazette because it was just a "claim". By publishing the announcement it does not in any way imply any validation by the Gazette or HMG. It should be noted that it did not appear in the State Notices section. Declan
That google site has got the measure of King Dave You state that you are descended from Lady Jane Stanley, whom youconsider to have been the true heiress of the Isle of Man under a system of gender-blind inheritance [in fact she would not have been, because her grandfather Thomas had at least one older sister whose issue remains extant]. However, you acknowledge that there are other descendants of Lady Jane who would have a better claim than you under the rules of your claim, but who do not press their claim, thus (you say) leaving it to you. Your apparent descent is through Lady Jane's grandson, John, 2nd Lord Sheffield - specifically through his first-born son, Edmund, 1st Earl of Mulgrave, born 1565. However, Edmund had an older sister, Elizabeth, whose claim would thus be preferable to yours. While her gender-blind heir (to be found amongst the descendants of Charles, 1st Earl Cornwallis, 1700-1762) does not press their claim, at least one of her other descendants does, and therefore by your own rules, your claim fails. That descendant with a better right is Queen Elizabeth II: 1. Lady Jane Stanley, married Sir Robert Sheffield 2. Edmund, 1st Lord Sheffield, only child 3. John, 2nd Lord Sheffield, first-born child 4. The Hon. Elizabeth Sheffield first-born child, married the 10th Earl of Ormonde 5. Lady Elizabeth Butler, only suriving child, married Lord Dingwall 6. Elizabeth, Lady Dingwall, only child, married the 1st Duke of Ormonde 7. Lady Elizabeth Butler, married the 2nd Earl of Chesterfield 8. Lady Elizabeth Stanhope, married the 4th Earl of Strathmore & Kinghorne 9. Thomas, 8th Earl of Strathmore & Kinghorne 10. John, 9th Earl of Strathmore & Kinghorne 11. Thomas, 11th Earl of Strathmore & Kinghorne 12. Thomas 12th Earl of Strathmore & Kinghorne 13. Claude, 13th Earl of Strathmore & Kinghorne 14. Claude, 14th Earl of Strathmore & Kinghorne 15. Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon 16. Queen Elizabeth II, 'claimant to the Isle of Man' (as well as de facto ruler). Regards, Michael

VinnieK
Following the bushido links and searching Google Groups for posts made by our mighty leader King Dave unveiled this peach of a post (which responds to other people questioning his past as an SAS deathninja): ">What a weak cop-out! I suppose you'll claim that your past is classified. >LOL Well I wasn't going to do it..but since you seem to think it is so important here you go. Army Vet MOS 11X with Whiskey 9 designate. Over 10 years professional experience as a corporate-counter terrorism specialist both privately and working for larger firms. Client list includes GE, IBM, MTV, ABC television, and CBS Records, just to name a few. Oh,...I also had a few fights over girls, cars, music, and parking spaces going back to age 15 or so. LOL Well, I hope that satisfies everyone concerned. Take care. DREW http://cqctraining.homestead.com" It appears that before he discovered he was cousin to the Queen and legitimate King of the Isle of Man, our majestic overlord was special forces, helped train Navy SEALs, and advertised his services as a close quarters combat instructor (Not quite sure why MTV would need a counter terrorism expert, but then I don't know about these things). Previous to that he ran a top notch political and news website called the DrewDaily I had thought that this guy was actually a minor noble chancing his arm, but it turns out I gave him far too much credit - he's just your everyday fantasist trying to scrape together some glory out of nothing. In a way it's almost disappointing.
VinnieK
Aye, you're screwed. Not only is he a. a ninja; and b. a Delta force operative/SEAL/Imperial Storm Trooper but he's also apparently the duke of Antwerp! I'm assuming that not only do you have to deal with him, but also a load of angry Belgian, certainly not Dutch, royalists. Also, looking up on Bullshido, it seems that he has a number of degrees from only the most reputable of dodgy mail order colleges, including a PhD or something from the prestigious, yet apparently secret, Southern Indiana Bible College. Brains, brawn, the ability to poorly photoshop a picture of himself onto a picture of the interior of a stately home, is there nothing our brilliant King can't do? Other than avoid making a fool of himself of course, that seems to be his Achilles' heel.
