Moghrey Mie
It's weird how some out of town retail seems to be permitted where as other out of town retail isn't. Yes. It has to be "too bulky to sell in the town centre" to have a chance of permission for outside. Is oriental food too bulky to sell in the town centre????? http://www.robinsons-fruit.com/php/oriental.php
Mutley
I see Dixons are recruiting for the IOM. Or is that old news?
gymbabe
we have enough overpriced crap on the IOM as it is, the last thing we need is an apple store Overpriced, maybe. Crap, definitely not.

pongo
I've never had a very high opinion of the planning over here. It's weird that people even need permission to trade - provided they don't cause a nuisance. No wonder the economy is all messed up.
Broadcaster
I saw a display at the Souther Agricultral show that had a name in the vien of i*****itseemed to be part of the B&O stand but I cannot remember the actual name, but it seemed to be a stockist of Apple products. fred w
It's weird how some out of town retail seems to be permitted where as other out of town retail isn't. Yes. It has to be "too bulky to sell in the town centre" to have a chance of permission for outside. Could that be why the mea stores failed selling too bulky products or just too bulky prices
The Old Git
Found it, it is called iStore.im and is down at Tromode Estate, next door to Cubbon & Breggazi As mention in post 69, which revived this old thread.
il buono
Can't see the available footfall traffic over here. Like most things here a new venture gets the crowds for a few weeks & then it just dies off. How many £1k i macs would they sell? Not enough. Surely just a rumour. The Old Git
Seeing that nothing has happened in the two and a half years since this thread was stated I'd guess it was just a rumour.
woolley
This thread has become schizophrenic. One faction going on about the new shop that's open and the other saying it will never happen. Fantastic. I love Manx Forums.

woolley
Keep meaning to go and check this out. Barry, if you are involved with it is it a franchise? A business within another business or a standalone?
Slim
Keep meaning to go and check this out. Barry, if you are involved with it is it a franchise? A business within another business or a standalone? As far as I can tell, it's an apple themed showroom inside Bang & Olufson's IOM store.
