somewhatdamaged
There isn't an Apple store in Jersey, and i doubt we have the market to warrant one. I don't believe it.
rednik
Maybe bear in mind the difference between an "Apple store" and a "Store that sells Apple products"
Tempus Fugit
isn't the printer place in Onchan an Apple dealer ? wouldn't you think there would be some advertising by now if something like that was opening ? Prestigious retail premises to be refubished. Approx. 1580sq ft over 2 floors. The owners are in the process of making a planning application for achange of use from the presence licensed premises to Class 1 retail and coffee shop/restaurant. link

Keith
I also heard that the old Waterloo building is being turned into an Apple Store. The ratio of male:female customers will be broadly similar in the new business as the old one...
pongo
Perhaps this is all connected with Wednesday's big do when Apple will change the world again. And at the end of the Stevenote he will deliver his traditional catchphrase, perhaps for the last time: "and one more thing .... we're opening a store in the Isle of Man". Loose Filing
The word on the street is that Jobsie is going to retire this year from the big Apple and come on live on the Isle of Man. We are getting an Apple Store, so Jobsie can do a bit of work on Saturday mornings...

pongo
It's weird how some out of town retail seems to be permitted where as other out of town retail isn't.
woolley
It's weird how some out of town retail seems to be permitted where as other out of town retail isn't. Yes. It has to be "too bulky to sell in the town centre" to have a chance of permission for outside.

The Old Git
I've never had a very high opinion of the planning over here. Years ago we wanted to move from one part of Douglas to another, but were refused because they didn't want retail moving from the town centre to out of town. It took us ages to make them see that we were never in the town centre in the first place and that we were hoping to move to premises still well inside Douglas and not "out of town". We then had to massively reduce the planned size of our premises in order to provide off street parking, but looking around us now it seems every business nearby has simply claimed the pavement as part of their parking area and they somehow get away with it.
