Gladys Posted June 13, 2011 Share Posted June 13, 2011 I would recommend escorted ride-outs over the course for all visitors so they 'get' the course rather than think it is a piece of the proverbial just before they become croppers. Perhaps invest in helmet radios so a running commentary can be given? I would also like to see everyone refer to it as 'the course', not 'the circuit', because it is actually a course over ordinary roads, not a safely designed circuit. To the OP, thank you, glad you enjoyed yourself and do come back, safely. As a Manxie, albeit not complete by accident of birth, the TT is one of the defining charateristics of the IOM and one I would be loathe to see go. Gladys Posted June 13, 2011 Share Posted June 13, 2011 Developing the ride-out theme further, it could be managed in a way that there is some kudos in participating and become a feature of the TT. You know, 'I rode the TT course with [insert any living TT legend] and got this T shirt' type of thing. Meanwhile, said legend is commenting about how he did this on the Verandah or Guy Martin did that at the Gooseneck but pointing out that if you get it wrong at Bray Hill that is the wall that will take you out. I happen to have been born and bred on the Island with a family name that goes back to the 12th Century so don't start playing that old abuse card with me. It's just that I have enough fresh blood in my gene pool that, unlike you, I do not have a slack jaw and dribble. I have a good life - a job I enjoy that pays well, lots of travel and a generally very satisfactory life - unlike you, who, it seems, have nothing in your life but playing racer on your piece of scrap metal.
