quilp
Unable to post a link from this excuse for a phone, I see there is a proposal to build houses on Pully golf course. I'm told golf is a lot less popular than it was, for whatever reason and wondered if the facility loses more wedge than the horse tram's or some other sporting event on the Island? I can see some people being a tad tee'd off about this and a bunker mentality coming into the round. Could someone oblige and flag the link from iomtoday for this latest cost-saving proposal? quilp
It's just one house. A bit like at Mount Murray A third of the golf course for 'houses' doesn't sound like one house to me matey. According to the news item. The more irons in the fire the better.

Shake me up Judy
It's inevitable really, with golf dying on its ass and too many courses on the Island for the number who still play.
Albert Tatlock
Isn't this the only course that Joe Public can play on reasonably cheaply?
quilp
Yeah, but it's only Joe and fewer who use it.

Non-Believer
Isn't this the only course that Joe Public can play on reasonably cheaply? Unfortunately for the ratepayers, there are no golf courses that are maintained cheaply though...?
quilp
So anyone know how much it costs as opposed to what it brings in? I'm a bit green on stuff like this.
Bobbie Bobster
I'd like to mark your card on this, but I'm afraid my information might be a bit bogeyous.
Gladys
Is there anything on the island that isn't 'dying on its ass'?
