Knoxville
I got a parking ticket today, I over stayed for what I paid as I ran over in a meeting I had and didn't quite realise the time.......but.......the parking ticket hasn't been signed, does this mean it's still enforceable? Just a general question before anyone kicks off "pay your ticket" etc, I'll pay it if it's enforceable.

Terminal
This is one of the reasons I don't go into Douglas town centre anymore.
Tarne
You can fight it and probably win but it's probably not worth it.
hboy
You can fight it and probably win but it's probably not worth it. I always get mine refunded. It's not as hard as you think given how most road markings here are none existent. It's always worth a punt.

Others, thank you, I'm more curious if it's enforceable without it being signed. I'll pay for it, as I over stayed the allotted time I paid for but just the curiosity of if it isn't signed who gave me it and is it legal? ans
IANAL but I believe if the ticket is unsigned, it confers you the right to shred the ticket into confetti and you're then entitled to one free month of parking regulation exclusion* *Not really. Pay your ticket and next time, get a grown up to go with you who can tell the time.

rmanx
A quick google suggests that you might have a case to appeal, but if you do, try to make the appeal in the time before the ticket "price" increases. When you write in to appeal, include something along the lines of asking for the time period to be frozen while the appeal is on going. Again, not binding legal advice, just something I found on a quick google search.

Mr. Sausages
I have a PhD in traffic wardening and am also a top lawyer. If it's not signed you can ignore it. You don't even have to respond. If anyone challenges you at a later date simply tell them Dr Sausages QC off the internet told you to ignore it.
Katman
If you ignore it, the matter gets passed onto the Coroner and it's then up to him to try and get the money out of you. I think by then if it's unsigned that becomes irrelevant as a court order will have been signed for the Coroner to chase the debt.

llap
I wouldn't pay it. I'd bill them for not using your tax money to provide adequate parking facilities.
