However his "column" in todays paper needs commenting on. Firstly I thought that his entire 1950's socialist ideas had run their course when we did not have the pleasure of his weekly missives. He wrote about half a dozen columns and then ran out of ideas. Bernie please consult your left wing friends and then you will realise that just because most Manx and even recent arrivals do not want 25 (a couple of dozen plus one) Muslim freeloaders on the Island that is not racist. Muslims are a religion and not a race please keep up. I am not sure why you have reared your head on the issue of so called asylum seekers now. There has always been conflict and always will be. Where will it all end. The job of our Government is to keep its citizens safe secure and happy. The money that we have spent on so called "aid" is alarming and should be enough to satisfy the couple of dozen liberal lunatics that seem to dominate the local media. Komrade Moffatt's far left socialist ideology is certainly not one that I share. That being said, his far left wing political views do not mean that everything he says is rubbish. However your xenophobic statements regarding refugee's is one that I am sure the vast majority of both Manx and non Manx residents of the Isle of Man find distasteful and offensive. You have obviously never met and had a conversation with a Muslim, unless it happened in a kebab shop. Religious zealots, no matter which version of a deity they claim to follow, are all the same. Christians worship a Jew nailed to a stick and a virgin that fell pregnant, (Ramsey is full of them), they claim the bible has all answers and yet every single miracle attributed to Jesus had already been attributed to either a Roman, Celtic, Norse, Greek or Egyptian god long before the year zero. Not sure that I have ever seen any bombers taking off from Ronaldsway in the direction of Syria. Take in 25 and they will want family and friends in.Give you bleeding heart s an inch and you will then want "refugees" from every other conflict let in and soon we will be swamped just like the rest of Europe. I have yet to meet anyone who is in favour of admitting "refugees" into the Island so I am not sure what circles you mix in. They are fleeing war-torn countries. However, we can't help everybody and half the world live in abject poverty or in war-torn situations so I am not sure what's so special about these ones.
