Not licensed, not told about it when we booked, only found out when we arrived. Was told by the rather condescending owner that India is a Muslim country, which I why they don't sell alcohol. Food very average, parts of our order missing Meh... I am afraid that was my experience too. Very nice people front of house, but the order was wrong (brought only one starter, missed a naan etc), so I think the waiting staff (who seemed to be the grandchildren and their friends of the maître d') were pretty inexperienced. This was borne out by seeing them go in and out of the same door into the kitchen, when there are two doors. The kitchen staff seemed to be from Spice of India. 2bees
The Tandoor cannot be beaten for authentic Indian foods, they are very lovely people too (typed in my best Indian accent)

The Old Git
I know that, but there didn't seem a whole lot of point arguing about it. The full ill quote was "You British don't seem to understand that India is a Muslim country" so I was probably still a bit taken aback.
Karellen
I'm surprised to read the negative reports about this place. I've been a couple of times recently and found it to be excellent. And BYOB makes the evening far more affordable, even considering the £2 PP corkage fee.
Capt_Mainwaring
That's interesting... They didn't charge corkage when we went? Lovely food, atmosphere, staff and view. Some real Indian classics and not just the usual list of British curry house favourites.
Kopek
They wont serve booze for religious reasons but they charge corkage??? What next, they serve Pork with an extra charge?
