Aristotle
UN resolutions are routinely gatecrashed by a very sizeable Islamic and Arab league of nations who use it to obsess over Israel while ignoring human rights abuses by their own nations. Saudi Arabia is currently (or was recently) on the Human Rights Council of the UN, as are a number of other human rights violators, so don't try scoring points by referencing that idiotic body. Nobody with a brain takes it seriously.
Aristotle
In fact, I think Saudi Arabia was HEAD of the Human Rights Council recently. It may still be. Pretty amusing, really.
RIchard Britten
You are confusing the Security Council and the HRC.
Aristotle
No, I'm not. You linked to both the Security Council and to general UN resolutions.
RIchard Britten
Irrelevant. The facts still stand in black and white.
Aristotle
Ban Ki-moon recognizes bias against Israel in last Security Council speech U.S. Withdraws From UNESCO, Saying It’s Biased Against Israel All 100 US senators to UN: End ‘unacceptable’ anti-Israel bias Quote The simple truth is that for as long as Israel has been a member of this institution, Israel has been treated differently from other nations at the United Nations. And not only in decades past——such as in the infamous resolution that the General Assembly adopted in 1975, with the support of the majority of Member States, officially determining that, “Zionism is a form of racism”——but also in 2016, this year. One need only look at the 18 resolutions against Israel adopted during the UN General Assembly in September; or the 12 Israel-specific resolutions adopted this year in the Human Rights Council——more than those focused on Syria, North Korea, Iran, and South Sudan put together——to see that in 2016 Israel continues to be treated differently from other Member States. “ U.S. Ambassador to the UN Samantha Power’s Full Speech at the Security Council,” Haaretz, December 24, 2016. Maybe that is because they keep breaking the rules? And the US? You're not even trying now are you.
Aristotle
Just now, RIchard Britten said: Maybe that is because they keep breaking the rules? And the US? You're not even trying now are you. But who is drafting and voting on the resolutions you reference?

pongo
@Aristotle You seem quite confused about the nuances within Israeli politics. Many of the settlers and many people who are very religious are implicitly anti-Zionist and oppose the existence of an Israeli state.

They are (quoting Aris) "...self-hating Jews, looking to please non-Jews by saying "look, we're dhimmi losers who agree with your retarded anti-semitic views". It's a survival mechanism they've inherited from the eastern European ghettos. They're a tiny little minority anyway so there's no point even discussing them. Their arguments are baseless."
