Sorry Finlo, but I have worked in transport for about 30 years and no way on this earth were you quoted £1500 for a ford escort van. 30 years ago, £1500 would get you a 10mtr trailer shipped both ways for about 3 or 4 days. Spoke to the right lady round the back of the building and got the price down to something silly like £300 or so (return). Presumably the first price was for freight while the second was after explaining it was just personal effects (ie not for resale or for use in trade).
