The Cohen Brothers latest film  - Ballad of Buster Skruggs - is on Netflix it has 6 distinct stories so you can treat it like a box set if you want. Very good indeed and the Isle of Man gets a mention.

The Coen's are guaranteed. This is a noir masterpiece. Liam Neeson's slice is particularly dark. Loved it.

Further thanks for the heads up ... still working my way through them.

They're dark, but the reason I'm posting now is that I'm surprised no one has made reference to (illiterate cretin) the song - Molly from the Isle of Man which is being sung at what I guess is the last story with 24 and a bit minutes to go.

Molly asked her sweetheart

With a simple country smile

If they might have a holiday

They sailed from Mona's Isle

They landed safe in London town

Soon Molly lost her way

Among admiring men

And she is missing to this day

Has anybody here seen Molly?

M, O double-L, Y

Has anyone here seen Molly?

Find her if you can

She is not all skin and bony

Oh no her figure's widely knowny-oh

 Has anybody here seen Molly?

Molly from the Isle of Man

Read a George Pelecanos novel recently, looking him up he's been involved in another series with David Simon from The Wire. Called The Deuce its about New York in the 70s concentrating on porn, pimps and prostitutes. It's dark and dirty and pretty damn good.
