Just for interest, the organisers of MotoGP have introduced a class for electric bikes, similar to our TT Zero. There are about 20 competitors all using the same machines and they race over seven laps of the GP circuits which are around three miles long. After one successful test session, the organisers moved to Jerez in Spain with a fully equipped mobile garage complex which would house all the bikes and equipment etc over a race weekend. Overnight, a bike which was on charge burst into flames beginning a chain reaction! The fire brigade could do nothing, the whole thing went up with 20 bikes and equipment and it had to be left to burn itself out!.

He's not wrong though is he?

It will be very hard and very expensive to achieve a carbon neutral island

Well he almost alluded to a part of the answer when he spoke about young people working towards achieving a carbon neutral island, tho' I don't know whether he realised it himslf

Carbon neutral or carbon compensating green tech is the future of work & enterpise for the next generation, & possibly the one after

This is the direction in which giovernment should be pointing business, tho' I appreciate the point of the Sultan who probably wishes they didn't involve themselves at all

He isn’t, but he started this ‘climate emergency’ to appease a few of the Tynpotwald numpties, loonies and mouthy shouty ones. He engaged mouth without putting his brain into gear! Still a growth area, we can have an extra layer or two of Civil Servants. How about a Climate Change Minister? A Climate Change Department? And the TT and FOM will have to be abandoned if we are fulfill our carbon emissions obligations. We can have all electric bike racing, just hope there’s no rain!

Mr Quayle is Chair of Biosphere IOM so he should be Climate Change Minister

He's not wrong. In the current climate it's gonna be a tough ask getting a decent trade in price for that v8 Jag of his.

Think he possibly has a big old Range Rover too

Should there be big carbon taxes for folks who indulge themselves with monstrously large engined vehicles?

The comments section is a revealing read. "The Pippi Longstocking of climate change..." Her exploitation by the likes of Al Gore and other interested parties comes as no surprise. Likened to a Che Guevara figure, exoticized as a climate change "revolutionary," by some, a mentally unstable child (and parents) by others. The outline of her family history and the culture she has grown up in gives an interesting perspective.
