Unbelievable. From the report it sounds like he’s either admitted to, or threatened the dog. And people think that’s inadmissible or ‘circumstantial’.

The case I was on plod was reading out texts from the defendant's phone and the judge just swotted him aside!

All such cases should be properly post-mortemed by a qualified vet... and if required then investigated fully by the police. Most killers start on animals.

If any case fails on available evidence, fair enough. If not, continue to investigate.

Sounds like this occurred here, if they examined and detailed damage to the back and also determined strangulation. It’s true about killing animals, as you say. Manx skeet has it that a well known ‘youth’ in Peel has killed cats in the past...we’ll see where he is residing in a few years (currently in Jurby, strangely enough).

So purely as an academic exercise, what would be the parallel procedure if it had been a 3 1/2 year old child that was found strangled in the shed? (and wrapped up in a plastic bag and that)

Wife withdraws evidence.

Drop it? (obviously not, but...)

The police issued a statement and a warning about people being abused by messages and trolled on social media. It sounded like the dog strangling family as they said something like you might not agree with the outcome of the case but it’s no excuse for abusing people. It seems that perhaps Mr Corrin’s pitchfork squad and others went too far.

When has he never gone too far. The lynch mob are now posting where he works...

I'll just put up the Police post from a few days ago:

Quote

We are aware of comments on this and other social media sites about a matter that has recently been at Court. The family concerned, which includes young children, have been in touch as they have had horrible messages and threats directed at all of them. We understand people are upset about the Court result however threats like the ones we have seen cannot be overlooked and we are having to send officers to speak to several people tonight. All comments on this thread will be removed. Thanks.

It's still being shared by others across a number of IOM groups on the bookface and the suggestion is they have a new dog and everyone's fearing for that dog's well being now. Pitchfork mob, sure, but maybe someone sensible like the MSPCA together with the cops could keep an eye on that somehow?

It has long been the case that when a farm / working dog is at the end if it's useful cycle, or produces a litter of unwanteds - they are "disposed of" and replaced - no questions asked.

This unproven case has caused a pitchfork waving, straw man situation - for a LEGAL migrant to this Islsnd.

If he did what the pitchforkers say he did (because they saw someone say he did on Facetube) then yep he deserves punished.

If the Police failed in their duty and the Courts couldn't prosecute - he's still not guilty

If he did it and got away with it - he deserves punished as do the farmers who flaunt the same laws.

If he didn't do it - shame on you pitchfork wavers -  probably the same ones who say "Fur babies........."

IF ANYONE SAYS FUR BABY I ALWAYS ASK WHAT BREED FUCKED YOU"...........

Typical Facebook mob behaviour then! Making claims about and fearing an event that probably will never happen and posting wild fantasies and claims that have no basis in fact as he is unlikely to be a canine Ted Bundy who goes around murdering dogs for the hell of it.
