TheTeapot Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Rishi is about to call it. Exciting times. I've illegally tuned in to the British Broadcasting Corporation to watch him squirm out his announcement. It's raining and people are shouting. 2 1 Quote

P.K. Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 Switched the box on just in time to see Sunak make his announcement. What followed was a gut-wrenching blather of "Isn't Rishi wonderful" and so forth. Entertaining as it was to see him getting soaked it was so cringeworthy I turned it off. It seems to me that the election has been called because Sunak, like Cameron before him, is running scared of "The Brexit Party" funded by the appalling Richard Tice. So the UK's version of democracy drops to a new low... Quote
Declan Posted May 22, 2024 Posted May 22, 2024 (edited) This is hilarious... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-politics-69051032 He gets wetter and wetter as the speech turns to how he's steered the country through dark times. Then the music starts from the ghost of Peter Mandelson's boombox. And his big anti-Labour line is "the future can only be uncertain" but thart doesn't matter because things can only get better.
