  1. The number ONE DoI priority issue he has to sort out is Crogga. Issue the variation to the license ASAP and let the company drill. All we hear is, there's no money. Well guess what? If Crogga is allowed to drill and the gas flows, there will be shitloads of money. Mini-Norway anyone? It could be Alf's defining moment..... or not!
  2. Oh my god, I read that and thought you wanted Hooper in charge of DoI!!!!
  3. Let's be realistic here, a SMR is completely beyond IOMG financial capacity and operational capability. Don't need to spend any money on a consultant or expert to confirm that. It's obvious. IOMG haven't even got regulations in place to drill a gas well, never mind regulations for nuclear fisson reactions!!

Referring to the Manx Radio interview this morning, @Chris Thomas seriously you don't think face to face meetings are the best way of dealing with things?! Why would the company feel it needed to act as it did if the department had "greatly communicated" ? A face to face meeting as they requested over 8 months ago would surely have helped iron out issues and misunderstandings. You state that there is a cost to the public purse in terms of drafting relevant legislation. If you'd have had a face to face meeting with the Company since they made their variation request (and since they conditionally secured financing), I believe you would have discovered that they are proposing even to contribute to the costs of bringing in the legislation. Manifestly obviously, the possibility of £Billions of additional tax revenue is definitely in the best interest of the Manx Public, it can not be argued otherwise, so I do hope you can now come to a considered, speedy decision to take the project forward with the urgency it should command.

Not good enough IOMG. Not by a long, long way. Should be embarrassed that DOI won't even have a grown up conversation with the company. @Stu Petersnow is time to act and ask the department you're a political member of, what the fuck are they playing at? @Chris Thomascare to comment?
  7. Yes, keep quiet and get on with the job. Ann Corlett MHK and Andrew Smith MHK showing us the way. Does anyone know of a thing either have done?

Don't understand at all your negativity. If drilling permit is granted, the two scenarios are Drill, gas flows, govt gets a free windfall, investors get significant return from their risked capital. Drill, gas doesn't flow, well plugged, investors lose their risked capital. Govt still in same position as now. Where is the downside to drilling to establish some facts? You seem to think there is no gas there, even though it has been proven to be present from previous drilling. IOMG have confirmed the same. Or is it one great hoax?

How many times do we have to say that no public money is involved!! I might say it in CAPS. NO PUBLIC MONEY IS AT RISK OR INVOLVED IN THESE PROPOSALS. The NSTA regulations will stipulate there must be sufficient funding in place and commited to plug and abandon the well if it doesn't work out.

"We, the Manx People.. ", you're not my spokesperson, nor are you representative. Miserable Manx crab.... Start a poll of the Manx public whether they support Crogga or not and let's see eh?

But they have all of 2D seismic from last time it was drilled..... don't tell me what took millions of years to form has changed substantially in the few decades since... Seems like you know a bit about the industry, and and can't fathom why you're so against it. Surely you can see the benefit to government if the gas flows, and the only way to establish that is to drill.

Which is why DoI should absolutely have Crogga drilling permit at the very top of their agenda. GET ON WITH IT, YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOSE AND EVERYTHING TO GAIN!!!!

The ball is firmly in DoI's court but they won't play, or even meet to discuss next steps with the company. I have this directly from the CEO. The money is contingent on the drilling permit, which it is up to DoI to issue as part of the licence (it's not included with the licence), but are now stalling as the company requested a slight variation to the licence in order to change some sequencing in relation to seismic, which DoI appear to be getting their knickers in a twist over, whilst entirely losing sight of the bigger picture, being that only DRILLING will either put this story to bed, or produce a windfall bonanza that will benefit every single person living on the Island. That's why.

this + 1 million Govt need a massive reality check about how important actually the IOM is globally. i.e. not at all. A golden opportunity secure their own finances for 20 years into the future, as well as providing cheap energy for all and accelerating the path to primarily relying on renewables and they dither, prevaricate, obfuscate and refuse to engage. Shameful. We know you read these boards @Chris Thomas, please instruct your department to get on with it, vary the licence and issue the drilling permit, before the opportunity is lost. Additional seismic adds nothing, they have sufficient data already that they know where to drill. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Doesn't matter what you believe, gas is proven to be there and the only way to find out if it flows at good pressure is to drill. @Chris Thomas pull your finger out, enough prevaricating, vary the licence and let them drill ASAP. The funding is in place, conditional on IOMG/DOI issuing the relevant permit, which they are stalling on, to my immense frustration.
  16. @Derek Flintwas posting video of a singer on the mountain on twitter, sounded and looked beautiful... (the Porsche, not Derek obvs! )
  17. Gutted I didn't get to see the Singer Porsche, they are something else...😍
  18. the internal outfitting is being completed in the UK I believe, so not yet.
  19. £9.4 million spent on Motorsport.....
  20. That's a double laughing emoji response! 😂😂
  21. effectively saying, I was in charge, but I couldn't doing anything to change the culture. ergo. I'm ineffective.😀
  22. Glover resigning! (from his departmental post) - so not as an MHK. What a brave move (whilst protecting your £70k salary)
  23. Manxman delivered today to new owners Manxman set to arrive at the end of June - Manx Radio Look forward to seeing her in Manx waters. At 133m she'll be quite a tight fit in our harbour, and did Moorehouse ask yet if she can berth at the new Liverpool Terminal? 🤔
  24. This would be very interesting, and presumably would support the conclusion that most reasonable people have made about this "letter" that it was made up, muck spreading to support his position. Literally no-one shreds every letter they receive the day after they are received (and read out so publicly), and especially if said letter supports your position. Why would you, unless the letter was falsified and clearly contained fabricated untruths. There was just no credibility to it, and he obviously had to concoct the shredding excuse so that the letter couldn't be examined in future evidence/FOI requests. I can't recall now in relation to what was promised the "point by point rebuttal", but I think it was to another of your positions/statements. Clearly this also never arrived, leaving reasonable people to conclude he's full of shit. Not fit to be an MHK imho.
