  1. Indeed Jamie Oliver has a lot to answer too, lamb shank's indeed cost a fortune now😁
  2. Gladys unfortunately the people of today do not have time to cook the more economical cuts and want something that cooks in minutes, although they will sit for hours gazing at a telephone etc. times have changed and not for the better.
  3. Love an oxtail as well as cows udder and tripe only thing I wasn't struck on was brawn, my father was a butcher and we were lucky enough to get such delicacies back in the day. I only realised as I got older that they were the bits nobody wanted. I would happy today to sit at the table with the family and delve into a pot of shin broth and a pot of spuds in their jackets accompanied by a large dollop of butter it was heaven back in the day.
  4. Ballahig meats at St John's will sort you out with any offal or different cuts, cheeks/shin etc give them a call, they will even deliver to your door.
  5. The tastiest pies I have had were made with beef cheeks they were proper tasty meat pies with a lovely gelatinous gravy. Pigs cheeks cooked low and slow with sherry is another delicious dish.
  6. Belfast to Blackpool via the IOM Manx Airlines early 80s used it a few times.
  7. I have just tried your dates and times you quoted and the price works out at £362, maybe you live up to your forum name.😁
  8. Mr Ashford asking a lot of questions since becoming a backbencher, he was not as inquisitive as a minister with his feet under the big table.
  9. I wonder are the Government trying to get the population growing? does the circus have the same following as the TT fairground, as 9 months after that there is a rise in the population! 🤫

    Weather

The tractors are out this morning with fertiliser spreaders/ potato planters etc getting ready to plant this years crop of spuds. Early winter wheat/ barley doing well in the field and we are only 35 miles away around St John's point.
  11. Also to add, they are bang in the middle of a business park so footfall at their doorstep with MT MUA and numerous other business's how could they fail? Go into Newsbeat up in the same area and its rammed at lunchtime.
  12. It arrived in Peel Friday morning so all things considered only a day later than expected.
  13. I posted an A4 size envelope to the Isle of Man from N Ireland cost £2.10 this morning and will give an update on its arrival it usually takes 3 days.
  14. No not really, I have family involved in the fishing industry and get a free sample from time to time, I call it quality control😁
  15. I am currently enjoying woodlice (langostine)and penne pasta in a cream cheese sauce and can say they are delightful.
  16. Prescriptions are free to everyone in N Ireland.
  17. No, Hooper has it wrong, some fella will rock up with all the speil and make himself £500k for 5 years of talking complete shite and the idiots at DFE will pat themselves on the back and say they created £millions for the Manx taxpayers.
  18. The people of PSM pay VED rates etc to maintain and upkeep their village KM is a village as is Sulby they have no problem with the road through their villages, it doesn't matter where they are this road has been an embarrassment for the last 15 years and as usual contractors that carried out the IRIS work, done what they had to, got the money and fucked off and left a mess and now the taxpayer has to pick up the tab to get it fixed.
  19. No £6500 would not have been enough to cover a re-con of the road, gut it would certainly covered the cost of a 4 man gang to cut out and base and top out each patch and make it look at least a professional job, instead it looks like a wagon drove through with the tailgate open and spilled a couple of ton of tarmac on the highway. This was an ideal opportunity for the DOI to show that they could do a professional job instead we get a mess piled on a mess. Who are you Jeff Robinson?
  20. Dave or whoever you are today just a little memory check for you, a couple of weeks ago you told us how wonderful the Treasury tendering system was the greatest thing since sliced bread and that you got loads of work when I asked about jobs completed on time and on budget and now you do not work or never haved worked for Government either you are a Government shill or a first class bullshitter or perhaps both!
  21. I had the pleasure of visiting a large Tesco extra in Newtownbreda this week while attending a hospital appointment in Belfast and can say that I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, we had lunch which was very reasonably priced and of excellent quality and then done our monthly shop and saved £32 with our clubcard offers. Maybe when Victoria road is completed it may be worth your while to visit with an open mind and you may like myself enjoy the experience.
  22. I suspect that someone could be lined up for that position to boost their CS pension, or we could send Bonzo as he has a great insight into Westminster.
