  1. Yeah - but just wait till we get the Queen's Pier refurb finished! Then we'll show ya!
  2. Maybe Ellen is the IOM's answer to Charlie Dimmock? (We are so lucky to have such talented back-benchers as a Professor of Horticulture, and a Professor Epidemiology/Economics/Housing/ Shredding/ Point by Point Rebuttal. . . etc etc.)
  3. The Ben is en route for Belfast this morning.
  4. I felt like reaching for the Chuck-Bucket, listening to this odious little man telling us about the many people, (General Public and fellow MHK'S) who have been congratulating him on his being asked to re-join the gang with the big boys!

Have you been peeking thru' Roxy's window? 🤣
  6. On The Mannin Line, today, Quirky was praising the performance of Alfie, at the Villa "gig" yesterday. (He added that, because Alf had hurt his back, he was lying PRONE in his chair!) PRONE means lying FACE DOWN. Any ideas as to HOW, Alf hurt his back? 🤣
  7. (And that's "election" with an "L" and not an "R", BTW)
  8. I suppose we should be grateful that it's not the People's Prince. or the Prof. !
  9. (It was reported in the Wall Street Journal, Fred.)

Looks a right Fokker, to me!
  11. I see he is still sporting his famous "tache"!
  12. Didn't Glad jettison her bunting some time ago?
  13. . . . or Corn Dolly making with a former Keys Candidate?
  14. Dunno, VOR - better ask Dorothy.
  15. Some good points, Glad. Our Beth is "Head of News & Deputy Controller of Programming, News and Content." So - it would appear that she is not the News Editor, or even a journalist. But she did gain a degree in Theatre Studies, 20 years ago, and she worked for a whole year in The Gaiety Theatre. (She does, however, look good in the Mandatory Manx Radio white shirt!)
  16. Personally speaking, I can say that I have enjoyed dipping in and out of The Archers, from time to time, over the past 5 decades or so. The Archers is a "soft target", and easy to criticize, but I feel sure that this "Everyday Story Of Country Folk" has given pleasure to many people over the past 70 years. (I don't see a lot wrong with that.)
  17. FFS! Not ANOTHER thread about Gladys' bloomers! (For the sake of pedantry - They were spotted up on the Marine Drive, and not on the quayside. Also - they were purple, and XXXL, and not small size. . . allegedly!)
