I think the 4th Wave of Ska might be more of ripple, if that's an example.

    TT 2024

It’s hollow though. It sounds like a good song might sound but it’s not a good song. It’s not so much a song about the TT but a song about some elements uncovered by googling about the TT. Take - “Through misty mountains and rugged terrain, They race against time, in wind and rain” That’s very generic stuff … mountains are always described as misty. Heroes always battle time and the elements And of course in the TT they don’t. They wait until it’s not misty or rainy. There’s nothing surprising, no unique insights into the Island or the TT. Just the kind of marketing blurb you’d find on the back of a TT dvd There’s no reference to any specific part of the course, race or past heroes. I’m sure a better musician than me can make a criticism of the music. But to my ears there’s nothing surprising. You know when the guitars going to kick in, a second before it does. None of the instruments does anything unexpected or creative. Everything is on the beat. Imagine when all music is this precise. It’ll be duller than the TT
  4. I think we're less than 6 months away from a drug dealer using the yeoman of the land defence or claiming that whatever he's selling is the antidote to the vaccination.
  5. This seems remarkably trivial... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-68797258 Stockport had a Labour majority of 6k in the 2010 election. Police Tsar and Euro elections are county and regional votes. The two houses are a mile apart and seem to be in the same council ward.
  6. Chemtrails is nothing new. 20 years ago there was a guy from Ramsey (aren't they always from Ramsey) used to post pages of shit with dodgy formatting on Beemanx or Manx.Net forums about chemtrails.
  7. Are you sure he's real? Looks like he's being played by Sasha Baron-Cohen.
  8. Rather than castigate him you should empathise. Reiterate it's not his fault he was let go, just the changing times. That he has skills that could be used in private sector roles, or in his own business. That he will have received a sizable redundancy pay off that should tide him over during a job search or if he wants to retrain or needs capital for a new business. And he should probably leave his wife.
  9. Was he trying to motivate United against Arsenal?
  10. The over the counter price can be quite expensive. There was a mess up with my prescription and I had to buy the generic equivalent - £3-50 for a week's worth whilst the prescription you get 6 weeks worth.
  11. How would that work? Would reporters be allowed to report on matters (like Partygate or the PPI scandal) until people are charged then not report that they’d been charged or report on the trial until conviction?
  12. That would be a crazy thing for a man in his postion to do. If he did it and it’s him.
  13. I like that the square is a public spce once more, but are they going to keep putting random shit in there untilthere's no room for people.
  14. He was in the Cardiacs and I think Gong. Saw him a few years ago in Utopia Strong with Steve Davis...
  15. You do hear of lots of people having issues getting deposits returned. I would have thought only a percentage go the legal route. Apparently there's a whatsapp or facebook group where local landlords exchange tips on how best to fleece tenants.
  16. That's a bit unfair. He was referring to the Opta prediction, which at the time had (roughly) Liverpool at 45% likelihood, City at 35% and Arsenal at 20%. So whilst Liverpool were the team most likely to win, it was still more likely they wouldn't. Current https://theanalyst.com/eu/2023/08/opta-football-predictions/ Liverpool - 45% Arsenal -21.4% Man City - 33.6% Remember Liverpool can end seasons strongly. Here's our recent seasons last 8 games. 2019 - 100% - WWWWWWWW and won Champions League 2020 - Ironically with the title already won with 7 games remaining this is the worst end to the season WLWWWLDW 2021 - unbeaten - WDDWWWWW 2022 - unbeaten - WDWWWDWW - 2nd plus FA cup win and Champions League finalists during that period. 2023 - unbeaten WWWWWWDD If Liverpool matched their last three seasons from (6 wins two draws) City would need to win all their games, and Arsenal could draw one and win on goal difference. City's recent last 8 games - 2019 - 100% - WWWWWWWW 2020 - LWLWWWWW 2021 - LWWWLWLW 2022 - unbeaten DWWWWWWD 2023 - WWWWWWDL (title was obviously wrapped up by the end and they had FA & CL wins in that period). It's worth noting City's best two season finishes were 2019 and 2022 when Liverpool pushed them to the last game. That might happen this year. Arsenal's form this year suggests they can go unbeaten too - they've not lost in ten league games. In fact the only loss by any of the three since Xmas is Arsenal beating Liverpool. Chelsea's draw with City was the only time this year any of the three have dropped points against the other 17 clubs and there are no games left between the big three. Anyone or all of them could win all remaining games. Normally that would win the title. Liverpool are favourites, simply because they've the most points at this moment. But, they're winning less comfortably than the other two. It's wide open.
  17. Weird post. I’m talking about Islanders lack of democratic influence on international events. No comment made on internal affairs.
  18. Grow up. It was a joke prompted by HiVibes post.
  19. Pathetic. The Isle of Man contracted out our International Relations to the English Government and their arms dealer funders. Worldwide the Isle of Man is tarnished (or otherwise) by the UK Govt's actions. Manx people can't vote for an alternative UK government, or contact our local MP. The only way that democratic deficit can be squared is if we can lobby our government, and our government can act to distance itself from the UK's policy.
  20. They really had the brains trust on this one. Presumably, Palestine didn't provide a similar opportunity for the Manx Govt.
  21. There's none of your new-fangled Premier League or Championship in Folk, it is forever pre 1992.
  22. Still not a 50% likelihood yet. But if in the summer when 6 first team midfielders left and Bellingham, Caicado and Levia prefering to go elsewhere, top at the start of April is pretty great.
  23. That's the beauty of Klopp - no partisan personal interests. What's he going to do? Build a vastly over-priced sea terminal in Liverpool?
  24. He's probably too left wing too. https://www.politico.eu/article/top-football-coach-jurgen-klopps-five-political-truths/
