Cret
I suspect you are just desperately spoiling for an argument, for whatever reason. Ace - that sounds like double standards again. Priceless. Sorry - if you can't understand what I'm saying then there's not much I can do. Can't write it out in wax crayon. Just re-read your own "Nothing personal" that you made to someone else on the back of an abusive post to them and perhaps it might sink in. zippy
Can anyone explain why they go at the excessive speeds quoted in this thread? Is it for anything else other than personal gratification? Seems exceedingly selfish. The sort of speeds discussed are dangerous and uneccessary.
The Thriller
At the end of the day everyone loves speed so no matter what people are gonna go mental on the roads, if people didnt enjoy speed then we wouldnt have fair's etc.
3v0
When I was younger I did try and see how fast I could get coming down the ballamohda (spelling?) and now when I go down there and see all the hidden roads and driveways etc it makes me cringe that I did! Fastest I have been since was on Jurby airfield touched 146mph before having to apply the anchors rather harder than they would have liked! zippy
Can anyone explain why they go at the excessive speeds quoted in this thread? I'm hoping that if I drive fast enough, for long enough, I might eventually hit you. I'd have to be walking pretty slow for you to catch me in the old man love mobile

ourtess
Just reasonable speeds then. As I suspected, there is no need for any sort of enforced speed limit... good.

As far as I can tell, there are a few unreasonable speeds mentioned. Which suggests a need for an enforced island wide speed limit.

sarahc
Which bit's the mountain mile? From the mountain box to guthries basically once you turn that right hander and start looking down over the north of the island Ah yes, you can get quite fast up there. I once did 65mph! (my high quality car shakes at 66..)
