yehyehyeh
zack and miri make a porno average and predictable, started off well though, some well written lines then slowly dived, picked up slightly near the end but had lost most of the momentum by then..... saw forgetten sarash marshall the other day too, again predictable and seemed almost pointless, worth a watch though it made me feel strangely happy inside, the end was pants and made the whole movie kinda pointless
Foxtrotlima
First time I saw Southland Tales, I wasn't sure if I was watching the best or the worst film ever made. Hated some bits of it, couldn't understand what the hell was going on, but there was something about this big glossy bat-shit crazy film that I liked. I've seen it a few times now, and it's grown on me big time. And the soundtrack is superb - lots of ambient electronica linking songs by Radiohead, Muse and the Pixies. (also - if you've seen the film but want to know more about it, there's a comic book that acts as a prequel, explains a helluva lot more than the film did) I think I Will take your advice and give it another try. I have ordered Southland Tales - The Prelude Saga from Amazon. Many thanks for the heads up on that one. I watched Spike Lee's "Do The Right Thing" ( IMDb link ) for the first time a week or so ago. It really was powerful film, capturing racial tensions in New York in the late 80's. Another film that I have only recently seen, even though it has been out for 3 years is Tsotsi ( IMDb link ). I know foreign language films aren't to everyones tastes, but I can't recommend it highly enough.
Cassandra
Watched Mongol on DVD last night, no idea how long it's been out. Beautifully filmed, reminded me muchly of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. Highly recommend it, I will actually be watching it again tonight. Another tardy vote for the Grindhouse films, and Shoot Em Up.
modey
Burn after reading was brilliant, The cohen brothers back to what they do best, it's up there with the big lebowski. And as for teeth one of the worst films i have ever seen, turned it off after an hour, awful Brilliant Hold on, are you my dad? No, but you must be 10 years old to think teeth was a good film

Overdose
Watched Burn After Reading the other night. Thought it was very slow to begin with, didn't really grab my attention but by the end of the film I was loving it, some really good laugh out loud moments. In Bruges and Ironman are still my two favourites for this year so far.
oogie boogie
In Bruges is very good. There's a film4 season on tv at the moment, This Is England on tonight. Watched Venus last night which was very good. Peter O' Toole and Leslie Phillips are brilliant in it. Even Uncle Monty makes an appearance I see There's a remake of Rec out called Quarentine, starring Dexters sister. Might have to check it out. Mr. Sausages
I just watched the King of Kong. I tried to persuade a lady to watch it with me, but I wasn't really able to sell the idea of watching a documentary about geeks trying to get high scores on arcade games. It was, rather surprisingly, ace.
John
Just watched Hancock... have to say I was brilliant, Will Smith as funny as ever and a good little twist...
jagman
Just watched Hancock... have to say I was brilliant... You were in Hancock? What as Mr Modesty? Watched a really good film at the weekend - no CGI or special effects just a very good story well acted. If you get the chance to see The Visitor I don't think you'll be disappointed. It's about a college professor who takes up the djemba (sp?) drum after meeting up with a bloke from Syria and his Senegalese girlfriend. jagman
Yeah, there's more to it than I said. But I didn't want to spoil the plot. Believe me, it's very, very good.
