Iran: A War Is Coming

Now it's properly kicking off.

Iran (not Iranian backed Houthis) have taken a tanker in the Persian Gulf.

Strikes last night by the UK and US against Houthis in Yemen.

Often with a lot of these conflicts, it can be pretty nuanced.  But in this case, just stop attacking the cargo boats and oil tankers!

Iran fired missiles at Pakistan last night.

It's also hit Syria and Iraq recently in addition to the Houthi situation.

What the hell are they playing at?

Shit stirring...

Stirring up a hornet's nest of different Muslim factions. Hopefully some of them will see this for what it is but I don't hold much hope.

I'm not sure where to put this but seeing as this thread title has 'a war is coming' in it i figure this will do.

Watch this video from Grant

Grant Shapps is like a kid that's been given a air pistol for Christmas and been waiting for his mum to go out so he can use it!

The problem is, it isn't an air pistol he's in charge of.

That video is fucking insane.

Has he forgotten that successive governments have decreased the size of the UK armed forces quite significantly from the cold war era

What was that saying, 'Speak softly but carry a big stick'?

I'm afraid our stick is pretty small these days!

You speak for yourself...!

It must have been quite a shock to see Russian tanks rolling West in the classic Cold War style that NATO had pretty much stepped back from.

However smart munitions made all the difference and showed the Russian Behemoth to be nothing like the force it once was. Essentially their tactics and command and control were still stuck in the sixties. Mind you, their original plans to overrun Europe included the use of WMD's as did the NATO plans to stop them...

So the modern British Forces are much less about an armoured slugging match on the North German Plain and more about deploying effective all-arms forces ASAFP.

As a Russian Staff Officer was overheard complaining "The bastards get there so quick..."

So not all bad really...
