When Skies Are Grey
Oh dear god NOOOOOOOOOOO.....and all for £4million....what a complete waste of money... Here's an idea...take down those stupid red and white lane dividers and the majority of the problems will disappear.....
Mission
I can't wait for this. The fuss that got made when Governors was being done will pail in comparison to QB. I'm going to run a pipe from all the offices in Douglas to my house - I should be able to store enough steam from the collective meltdown to power my house for six months. Sparky
How about just building circular roads turning the Island into one big roundabout? I agree with WSAG, remove those red and white lego bricks.
When Skies Are Grey
To my mind there are three main problems at the QB 1. Those ridiculous bollards obstruct the view 2. People arrive to quick in to the junction, particularly from the Peel going in to Fire Station direction which is further compounded by lack of visibility as above 3. Drivers are unable to use round about (despite the amount of practice that one gets these days on IOM roads!!!) So if the DoT want to give me the £4million I will glady remove the bollards and pocket the difference.....numpties!!!
Albert Tatlock
The plans for a new £4m traffic scheme for an island accident black spot are to go on display. At least they're planning ahead this time - £250K to do the job and £3.75M to fix it when it's not fit for purpose afterwards.
manshimajin
There are proposals to build a large roundabout, in an effort to ease congestion and prevent accidents. Do you think that this will stretch as far as the Tesco roundabout? Personally I would prefer a flyover and underpasses - would look like better value for £4 million (still it's a lot less than those runway extensions). On the holy stretch of road that is the TT course? Are you mad? We cannot have sensible solutions on holy ground. £4m is bloody silly, but the whole place does need flattening and one big roundabout put in. Or we could all just drive less for free.. Albert Tatlock
Pah - we could have had a monorail for £4M.

kevster
Pah - we could have had a monorail for £4M. Or some cycle lanes. Or driving lessons for everyone. They might learn how to use roundabouts then
Billsmurf
Was there not a single roundabout there at one time.
VinnieK
Pah - we could have had a monorail for £4M. Or some cycle lanes. You can't pitch cycle lanes as an alternative to a monorail, that would be madness. Monorail beats all!
Sidney
Here's an idea...take down those stupid red and white lane dividers and the majority of the problems will disappear..... I was once told by a DOT worker that the red and white bollard thingies are there to allow pedestrians to cross the road without being endangered by traffic when waiting to cross the second carriageway. And he wasn't leaning on a shovel at the time so it must be true.

How about we use a similar solution to this, only change the wording slightly?
