Minister decides

Concerning this charity, an open letter to Mr Crookall was recently sent to schools on the island. I have reproduced it here.

I'd be keen to know when the letter was sent, by whom, and what action, if any, Mr Crookall has taken or intends to take.

The children are asked to join a 12 week discipleship programme, an offer they are hardly in a position to question, let alone resist. The purpose of this discipleship programme, called ‘The Greatest Journey’, is according to SPI to “raise up an army of evangelists.”

This line is very concerning, I think the current boxes should be diverted to one of the other charities mentioned ... this "army of evangelists" is the nothing more that what ISIS is trying to do in the name of their god and certainly not something we should allow.

Charity should and must begin at home surely ? when there is so much need on this rock why should Gawne be empowered to give x amount of thousands away in so called foreign aid which merely gets used up by corrupt governments (yes they do exist elsewhere) when there are families on this Island facing a Christmas of poverty mainly brought about by our own incompetent and corrupt government.

Letter from whom ?

To be honest it makes little difference, all you need to do is google "Samaritan’s Purse" and there is enough out there to know these are not nice people .... Yes, I know there is a lot of lies on the web but enough here to make the point beyond doubt.

I had some God people around my house the other night. Unfortunately I couldn't turn both of them to believing that religion in this day and age is poisonous to the younger generation, due to the fact that people keep killing each other in the name of religion.

One actually agreed with me, his mate on the other hand was really attempting to get across his message. (brainwashed - I don't think he liked being called that)

I don't think they'll call back, as I've already been taken of the list for others, when I asked 'if your so called saviour, saves the world from every evil, where does free will go?'! They promised to look at the scripts and call back.... Still waiting!

Which is a shame, I love socialising with everyone. :-)

Seems the unwashed hordes are the non-believers. Unlike those named on the Ramsey memorial in question.

I don't see what the connection is between being shot or killed in defence of your country and being an irritating Jesus Freak who wants to send shoeboxes full of crap to poor kids. If believing in God means that you are more likely to go out and get shot fighting wars then that says it all really.

Many years ago I answered the door to a man who announced: "I have good news for you." Thought I'd won the pools. Turned out to be a bloody Jovey. Not amused.

It's a pet hate of mine. I felt like following a couple of them home, waiting till they'd gotten settled or in the bath, then ringing the bell and saying, ''Good Evening, I'm a fundamental Atheist and I wonder if I might blatantly disregard your privacy for a few minutes in order for me to further my own personal goals?''.

(Actually, it's not a bad idea,,,)
