Rhumsaa
I'm struggling to find anything online, is there any requirement over here to register a club or society centrally or have any formal formation/qualification process or can anyone just call themselves a club or society? piebaps
Anyone can call themselves a club or society. The important thing is to have a set of rules/constitution. You may struggle to open a bank account without one.

woolley
If it is likely to grow to any size, hold assets, apply for grants, or members simply want to give it a legal status, consider incorporating as a company limited by guarantee. http://www.lowtax.net/information/isle-of-man/isle-of-man-company-limited-by-guarantee.html
Gladys
You may also have to register a business name before incorporation to give it some kind of recognition which should help in opening a bank account. Otherwise just open an account in your name but you may have issues with receiving monies into it. Is it the Reasonably Priced but Nice Burger Club? Gladys
Speak to the favoured bank first so they can tell you of their account opening requirements.

llap
I think Onchan should have its own Freemason lodge. Why should I have to go all the way up to Ramsey, Peel or Douglas to shag goats???
