It’s past candidate list is already full of crackpots, loonies, alcoholics, dreamers, and associated delusional folk. He’d probably feel right at home and actually look quite good against the other competition.
gettafa
You forgot 'chancer' from your list ie Malarkey (and a few others).

the stinking enigma
He'd be the least ridiculous one in there but won't get in because he will be deemed too ridiculous
Max Power
Well, that's the beauty of our island, anyone can give it a go and it's up to the public. Unless the Keys get another fit of the PCs and do something ridiculous like they did last time!

The only criteria is to be like the three wise monkeys. If Michael Moyle, one of the finest scrutineers of documents on the Island couldn’t get in then what likelihood is there if anyone else making it. Be a bit thick, have few ideas of your own, keep your ears eyes and mouth shut and you’ll get the vote.

Like others in this thread you do not understand the process involved in standing as MlC. The candidate has to be proposed by an existing MHK. This candidate was proposed the last time he stood and then that MHK ‘changed his mind’ and disappeared from view. That tells you just about all you need to know. They decided that they wanted more women and it didn't matter what their qualifications were. I was referring to the fact that he can stand as an MHK, quite easily. He'll never get in as an MLC! gettafa
He should stand as MHK. He is pleasant, personable and well spoken - that will gain a significant part of the vote. As a bonus he has an understanding of politics and the Isle of Man generally.

I'm not so sure that will endear him with the indigenous "Manx" voter. If he's not a yessir, then it would probably go against him.

Something that isn’t a part of the insanity that has been created for us and that have subscribed to because there is no alternative. If there was a viable alternative the system would not exist as it does - a closed club with little care for the people and every care for themselves and the self preservation of their ‘kudos’ salaries and pensions. He’ll have a cat in hells chance but at least he’s trying.

You’re right, it won’t, but it will endear him to the younger generation and to the ones who are ready for change and who are prepared to work for it.
