Nom de plume
This is excellent news. Travelodge have tried to up their game a little (which wouldn’t have been hard to be fair) since the Premier Inn express train came along. Douglas needs this to happen but it will be a very expensive project.
mad_manx
It says that the multiplex and Travelodge have already been let out .Isn't it good news /positive for this project. Much better than building something and then waiting for tenants . Travelodge will do well as the sea terminal passengers can just walk across the road and reach it . Also great location for tourists as the horse tram is located right around the corner. Steam trains are a few minutes walk away. A better location than premier inn as hopefully some of the rooms will have a sea view.

There seems to be quite a few wealthy people doing some developments around the island just now, they must know something? The Sefton Group have to cough up on the government loan shortly, that could stir the pot there too, particularly with the Castle Mona sale going through? Could something be earmarked for the Middlemarch plot? Add the refurbished Mount Murray to the mix, we will have a better hotel offer than we have for years.

P.K.
Ah yes, Travelodge. Where better to consummate those sordid little affairs than a budget hotel chain...?
