Shouldnt drones have an automatic shut off if they try to enter military or forbidden airspace?

I think they do, at least the expensive ones, but I guess for the techies amongst us its not a big deal to disable it.

Possibly nobody. Police now saying there may never have been a drone.

You do have to feel sorry for those people. No evidence at all and now there might not even have been drones that they didn’t put up over Gatwick either. Sounds sort of like mass hysteria to me. Some weird belief on flimsy evidence took hold and probably cost Gatwick £20M and pissed off hundreds of thousands of travelers.

Backtracking on that now, apparently, claiming there were 37 sightings between 21-23 Dec.

Feel sorry for the arrested and now released couple though, although they've been very quick to run to the Press. Big compo to be duly sought, methinks?

heard on the radio today that the keystone cops are saying that some of the drone sightings were probably the drones the police were using to look for the other drones.   you really couldn't make this stuff up.  they need to understand that some of these drones can have a range of  4- 5 miles out the box,  scratching in hedge bottoms around the actual airport was a waste of time but at least they looked like they were doing something for the cameras.

Which police force oversees Gatwick? Is it the Keystone Cops?
