Would one start a sentence with “Us English” or would one say “We English” ?

Of course not, but he didn't start a sentence with it, did he?

If the sentence started "We English.............(are going to do something)..." - then you need "we" as the subject pronoun.

If (as in the case here) "(something is happening to) us English." - then you need "us" as the object pronoun.

Think: "We (English) wish you goodnight." versus "Goodnight from us (English)." and you will have it.

This is a particularly poisonous thread that the Moderators should close down.

Any of you whinging bastards are free to stand for MHK and push on to be the Chief Minister if you chose.  Fancy having a go and have to put up with keyboard warriors telling you where you went wrong?  If not, shut your Manx Crabby shit-holes and fuck off somewhere else to live.

I have to say Howard you have improved tremendously since your first public announcement surrounding Coronavirus, I was one of your early keyboard critics but praise were it’s due you can now almost speak fast and fluid. You’re doing a sterling job. I don’t envy you, particularly when the media ask questions you’ve already answered in your opening speech, it’s hard not to show the frustration.

It’s actually ‘you’ English. As in ‘You English can shut up now thanks’.

And of course you don't have the same problem with this, because one of the vagaries of English is that in the case of the second person, the subject pronoun and object pronoun, both singular and plural, male and female, are all covered by the one word - you. Stupid language!
