It was to the next Minister of Health as I read it Hooper only holding the fort until Alfie finds a dummy soft enough to take this toxic position on.

Given the.current situation who would be the ideal candidate.? Their first actions may be to deal with nurses, care staff and ambulances pay / working to rule, not to mention backlogs, GPs shortages and the rest.

As for the nurses we have had no comment from the Director of Nursing or the Chief Executive on the potential impact on nursing on the island. Do they have any contingency plans?

What seems to be coming clear is the dire financial situation and I wonder how much of the Business case for Synaptic et al had money included just to keep Manx Care afloat ?

The issue about car parking charges at Nobles has not gone away yet and was included in the Board papers as an option for a business case. Is it still on that table or was it just a potential lever top encourage more money for that particular case.

Our reliance on charity and volunteer groups to support the health and care servicesis holding up so far. They deserve praise.

The case for car park charging is weak, knowing how the Government operate it would cost more to operate than income .It would incur unnecessary  stress and bad feeling.   The last appointment I had a few months ago the clinic was running late I as waiting early an hour and a half before I saw the specialist, no one’s fault there was an emergency, I got out in under two hours , just, imagine the added stress whilst I was waiting if there had been a two hour limit.   OK for bloods it is usually a quick in and out but if anyone has got out of A and E in two hours they are very lucky.    What about the overspill  car park ?  Will that be included ? There would have to be a better bus service that would cost money.    Saying car parks across the water charge is nonsense in comparison most of the hospital car parks over there are massive.  This idea is ridiculous and there are far more important issues to be sorted.

Based on current evidence, Mr Paul Moore is only interested in bigging himself up on MR, redefining bullying as passionate people expressing themselves vigorously - and putting the entire blame for the current circumstances on the previous regime (it remains to be seen how long that excuse will continue to be credible).  He’s been in charge of clinical governance since January 2021 (date check needed) - shouldn’t he have started doing something about it by now?

…or maybe I’ve misjudged him completely; and he’s waiting to reveal his solutions to these and other problems, including a contingency plan for the nurse pay situation…and the nurse staffing situation…and the toxic culture problem…and (cont’d pg. 94).

It's a difficult one, Sid. NHSUK carparks do charge, the link below gives an idea of how it's done across the water...

It looks fairly complicated and would require oversight, at extra cost. As you say, there are other issues that need to be sorted first.

Every hospital and trust has different policies. Some sites, especially city centres, are very cramped, and have little parking.

Old Liverpool Royal was a pay and display Q Park half a mile away. Free shuttle bus.

Clatterbridge Cancer Centre ( City ) has the top four floors of a new multi story. You take your ticket and get it validated as you leave the clinic, so it’s free for out/day patients.

Any system that allows up to 2 hours free and validation if you run over time would work and be simple.
