Albert Tatlock
MF has been going in its current form now for 20 years. Of course, it existed before that in other forms too. Its now moved even further into the 21st Century and now migrated to the cloud. So let's all be grateful for a platform that allows free speech (with T&Cs) and to those that run it behind the scenes. I'm not talking about the moderators, that might be you next! - but the tech behind it and the engine room that keeps it going. Without it there would be no MF. Free speech is not always free. Sometimes it actually cost lives, like Rowley Drower - a fervent poster and defender of the truth https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/uk/2004/nov/12/davidleigh Let's keep it up! And say thanks to Uni for making it all possible for all these years...and more! 3

Bombay Bad Boy
Wasn't there some sort of beverage-based gathering at the 10th anniversary? I'd be up for similar.

In a way it's real start was a few months later. Manx.Net forums shut in April 2004 (ish). Manxforums and Slim's Manx Online were set up to fill the gap. The user base generally moved to Slim's forum, but that closed after a few months and manxforums became the main local forum in about July. It's a credit to Uni etc that it's kept going this long. Given the pressure that's at time come its way from melomaniac millionaires, pusillanimous politicians, and disreputable djs, and that's before we consider it's user base. Albert Tatlock
There was a lot of background tech to set it up before it went live. If we celebrate it over a month, rather than one set date, more people can likely turn up to any meets arranged (public or private).

I hope you are referring to the Albert who is now described as 'a good guy deep down' and who's health condition is now classed by many as 'satisfactory'?

Don’t think either of them put money in the kitty last time around. Tight!
