  1. If anyone ever needed a prime example of what I was posting about....well, there you have it. You are, as indeed I am, entitled to 'your' beliefs.
  2. Oh, I have absolutely no doubt about just how clever placed trolls can be extremely useful in adding discreditation to even well thought out or personally observed dreadfully dishonest situations....no doubt whatsoever.
  3. THIS. Years ago Manxforums were taken so seriously by those ever so impotant, (not a speeling mistook) leaders of our nation that some took it upon themselves to try and get support for some kind of a gagging law. Now we have wannabe comedians/cynics/trouble makers and 'simple' trolls who have no inkling just how sophisticated real humour is. 'THIS' is why 'they' decided to leave us alone to carry on losing any credibility we ever had. 'THAT' is why MF is now, for most readers, seen as just a bit of a laugh. We had so much real potential of bringing about real change....ironic eh.
  4. 23 hrAmadeus locked this topic 2hrAmadeus unlocked this topic Why this 'AUTOCRATIC' approach on a little local forum? oh...wait...maybe..
  5. Quick question which might seem a bit dumb to some. Do the current LFT's have the ability to recognise all of these different variants? More especially as we now have to pay for the tests. My Wife is a carer and has to test quite regularly for her job caring for very much older and more vulnerable people. Impacts considerably on the pittance she is paid for a 0 hours (non contract) job. Anyone in the med field know?
  6. Oh jeez. Ok. For all those living North of Ramsey, it's ok to say Down North....Happy.
  7. I apologise in advance for this, but, like 'Flatearthers' anyone who says 'Down North' loses any credence for me. Look at any globe or map.....which way is North. It is simply UP!!
  8. Just how far does sheer, no, not sheer, ABSOLUTE INCOMPETENCE have to go before someone/something steps in to sort this lot out properly. Personally, I'm completely fed up of being shafted now and certainly for future generations, our children/ grandchildren by this level of total incompetence.
  9. Exactly the same will happen, IF they ever 'get off the ground', to the plans for our electricity generating 'Windmills' £40,000,000 🥴 my hairy arse.
  10. Thing is though, think about it, while he is being as ignorant & arrogant as expected.....it does seem to take the focus off the CM's inane ability to be simply.....useless. What an absolute let down he's turned out to be....very sad.
  11. Watch the dreadful experience that IS the Manx McDonalds here quickly disappear is when, finally, the first Burger King opens. Such a much much better burger taste experience.
  12. The younger 'Boy Blunder' (not David Ashford) who is currently charged with the responsibility of our health, Laurie Hooper, showed an incredible level of arrogance with his non-answers in Tynwald question time today that has rarely ever been seen here before. Totally negative, unhelpful and unnecessary where our Parish Politics are concerned. All that was needed where this sensitive topic (assisted dying) is concerned, was that until any legislation is passed there is nothing we can proactively work towards, which he said at least three times. It wasn't the words he chose , it was the unbridled cynical and nasty attitude! He actually sounded like a a very spoiled teenager, angered by what he considered silly questions. Laurie, you really do need to acquire some very badly need maturity. ASAP!
  13. Wait until she finds she's gonna need finance to cover replacement batteries. depending on the vehicle, I'm told a full set can be up to £18,000 plus another £1,000+ to find somewhere (off Island currently) to dispose of the old ones. AND....major handringing if you want to go for a trip anywhere off the Island. Definately not for me!!
  14. 1 Executive officer salary = 3-4 Nurses salaries.
  15. Is it really too much to ask our 'elected representatives' .....to do just that.......represent 'us', rather than, at any cost, trying to defend the indefensible to the tune of almost a million pounds (Doctor Ranson). That money could have gone to give our very brave medics, not just during COVID, but at all times in an emotional and physiological tiring profession, a simple thank you for your caring. They, he, Hooperman, should hang their/his head in absolute shame for this pure atrocity of honest justice. As he gets older, obviously not 'more mature', maybe, just maybe he'll realise how he should have behaved, and put those he was supposed to look after, us, ahead of his ego. Just how on earth anyone ( Alfie)thought he would be remotely capable of handling such a very important position is simply beyond my comprehension. There really needs to be a complete change to this Islands Government mindset...responsibilities first....ego last. And....no more 'Assumed knowledge' you're simply not up to it!! If I had been inclined into politics, after I had retired my tenure, I would have liked to be able to look back and say 'I did my honest best with my time'. Simple.
  16. Trivial I know, but who still sells them?
  17. The Minister did do his best to answer the questions he was presented with. The problem was the topics raised in some of those questions. He mentioned overspend, it's not, it's underfunding and has been historically for years. It's all about Government spending priorities. Just how consistently wrong can they continue to be. Dear God, the only consistency with our lot is consistently getting it so wrong with absolutely NO accountability.
  18. Today's, July 31 2023 Mannin line. Talking to the Health Minister, why in Gods name spend almost 10 minutes of airtime with a caller addressing Hooper about the 'Crogga' situation. He's the HEALTH minister!! AND NOW, AT 12:37 RAILWAYS AND HORSETRAMS You couldn't make this up.
  19. A prime example of teflon coated public/civil service behaviour. Putting 'Assumed knowledge' to great use...(NOT) 'Assumed knowledge', ego led and rife throughout IOMG.
  20. I think the biggest fear here, and ironically the only guarantee is, like in the case of decimalisation, everything will be rounded up.....as usual.
  21. Seriously....I'm not 'Pussy footing around' here!
