Whereas most of us see this as a problem, Douglas Borough Council could use this as an opportunity

Buying a fleet of pooper scooters, employing riders, pictures in the paper of the new fleet, drinks & nibbles in the Mayor's Chambers

It's not quite on the scale of the unnecessary £1.5 million for LED streetlights (decision approved)or the ludicrous £11 million car park/library/retail glass thing at Cambrian place ( thankfully shelved)

Come on Mr Christian, this is just the kind of thing to further burden the ratepayers with

It is quite simple a zero shitting policy...

All dog owners should have to have a garden or access to one.

Any dogs found defecating on the street should be shot.

Quite simple and if the owner gets a new one the three strikes and you are out policy should apply.

On the next boat.

Dog faeces in the street is a problem that often occurs in the same area time and again.

This is also often linked to dark nights and bad weather.

Mos residents in areas where this is a problem would be quite happy to have a portable cctv camera in their window until the responsible owner is either caught or stops leaving the faeces there.

If caught the punishment should start with something like 100 hours community service cleaning public areas not a £50 fine.

One other point - at least you stand a chance of seeing dog mess in the street, the cat shit in your garden however!

Many of the most vocal people about dog mess are cat owners who are quite content to kick their cats out of the house most of the time where they are free to shit and piss everywhere and never do it in their own garden.

As they are not licienced why can we not treat unaccompanied cats as vermin and eradicate any that come into our gardens?

Not the dog's fault though, is it ? (I'm not even a dog lover)

The "owner" needs to be punished, not the pet.

The dog owner would soon get a grip if he felt that his pooch would get the bullet.

And if dog owners are so responsible how come in the whole history of the World a dog owner has never picked up shit that has been left by another dog.

They are the experts for fucks sake...
