Douglas Prom
It's not about the fact that it may only be 15 or 20 minutes here and there (over the course of a working week that's over an hour), but the fact that it's totally unnecessary! A little bit of common sense and communication would make the world of difference. It's all relative, wow you were stuck on a motorway for an hour? Good for you, but you may have failed to notice we don't have motorways here so that comparison is irrelevant. The gas work can't be that urgent as if it was the road would be closed under an emergency road closure order. The prom isn't that time precious either although it does desperately need doing. There should only be one 'disruptive' scheme at a time happening in Douglas.
paswt
But that would be the sensible thing to do "DP"

Zammo Maguire
Cycling along the railway line would seem to be the quickest option. You'll probably need to jet wash yourself when you get into Douglas to get the mud off mind...
Tempus Fugit
finally arrived home from Greeba, via the scenic route, - Patrick, Dalby, Round Table, Ballabeg, Castletown, airport - seems the Police don't know which roads are open or shut, told them they couldn't go from Round Table to Ballamodha / St Marks as Foxdale was shut ! Frances
this is 2nd time this section of the Peel road has been blocked with no sensible alternative due to this extended closure of the key Foxdale route
Gizo
Bet they don't repair the Dalby mountain road and surface through Dalby after all this, as at the present it's a friggin disgrace
Zammo Maguire
Can't wait to see the moaning tomorrow when people head into Douglas and realise parking has been suspended on both sides of Loch Prom.
IOMRS97
It will get them used to the idea that before too long they will lose parking on one side of Loch Prom when the horse tram tracks are moved to the sea-side of the road. Not quite sure why the tracks are being moved but DOI are never wrong so it must make sense...
JOE450
Can't wait to see the moaning tomorrow when people head into Douglas and realise parking has been suspended on both sides of Loch Prom. Are they opening the walkway for car parking while they do the resurfacing work ?
Zammo Maguire
Probably in a couple of days when it finally occurs to somebody at the DoI that opening the walkway may have been a good idea.
NoTail
Not sure but I think the prom walkway is the responsibility of the Corpy and not the DOI.
