Quirk hasn't stood since he was voted out. Despite his mess with Manx Gas which resulted in the higher prices he has managed to get himself elected as a Commissioner in Onchan so who knows, if he Granny Farms well enough he might stand and get elected. I sincerely hope not but with newcomers like Leather and others he might be the lesser evil.

How many MHK elections in Onchan have there been since he lost in 2016 that we've all been unaware of?

None, I stand corrected but I don't think he will stand this time.

"The main proposal of Mr Leather’s campaign is to revitalise the island’s tourist economy by extending a section of Loch Promenade 200 metres into the sea to generate 200,000 square metres (49.5 acres) of land.

This ’prime land’ could then be developed with modern hotels, flats, potential offices and a modern underground shopping precinct.

Mr Leather, who holds a master’s degree in commercial property development, cited the rejuvenation of Blackpool from 2000 as a model which the island could follow."

This guy is clearly in Lala Land. Blackpool is an absolute mess full of concrete and Leather's proposals are ludicrous. The Island can't even make a new promenade let alone reclaim land from the sea and develop it even if the funding was there. Please don't vote in this lunatic.

A modern underground shopping precinct! Because the old fashioned above ground ones are overflowing with shops.

Who's going to vote for more disruption to the Prom?

Incredibly, Onchan may have been offered an even worse candidate than they already have. A Michael Leather has declared, and he wants to build a shopping mall under the sea.

There's an urban myth about doctors using NFN to indicate Normal for Norfolk.  Maybe political observers need NFO.

Looking at the activity of onchans MHKs.

Questions asked in Tynwald for the last 9 months:

Julie edge - 100

Rob Callister - 0

The children's champion seems to have stopped asking questions around the time he was appointed to the DOI.  Probably unrelated...

That is not true, two weeks ago he asked the stupidest question in this adminstration, beating seaguls and postage stamp prices.

His census homelessness question, which had nothing to do with homelessness.

Tynwald June 2021 FOR ORAL ANSWER - 30 The Hon. Member for Onchan (Mr Callister) to ask the Minister for Policy and Reform – How his Department selected the questions to be asked in the census?

Maybe RC thought if better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.

The lack of candidates in Onchan is a concern.  Michael Leather delivered a leaflet earlier...he seems overly obsessed with reviving a long dead tourism industry.

Some very odd and specific ideas..Are CAD skills in high demand?

Still, I would rather vote for him than the blogger in chief! His purpose seems to be to collect as many departments as possible.  Just another comin yes man.

More than happy to correct my statement.

Rob - 2 questions.  Questions dried up after doi appointment.

Julie - 180 questions

One appears to be working for the consituents and the other for themselves.
