All of the island’s 6th formers were told they had to go. The buses were paid for by the government. The students were told they were getting a lunch too, which consisted of…. a ham sandwich in a bag.

So much for being treated like adults when you are under a three line whip. To think the tossers including CM Cannan and others want those students votes.

Ham Sandwich - are Muslim and other faith students who don’t eat pork given a suitable alternative? What about those who identify as being a cat? Tin of Whiskers?

It’s rather pathetic really the way IOMG treat its students, in order to get its votes and loving approval.

The NPM (MR) has CM Cannan informing the great unwashed that he hopes to properly engage with local authorities over the establishment of a Manx Housing Association. CM Cannan can’t be trusted in anything that he says, after all, Government consultations are pointless as they will do whatever they want. For the sake of arguments if Peel Town Commissioners objected to plans, will CM Cannan or the DoI listen, engage, take their viewpoint and try to come up with an acceptable and workable compromise? I doubt it, as it’s Alfs way or the highway.

The picture of the Royal Hall at the Villa Marina speaks volumes - empty tables and chairs. More IOMG wastage, the only success story - good at wasting other peoples money.

What we need is more housing not a housing association.

I went to hear about education but it was mostly buzz words of strategy, engagement and stakeholders.

The sixth formers I know enjoyed it and found it beneficial.  They also got a drink and a bag of crisps with their ham sandwich.  Other options were available.

This plan will certainly transform Douglas and help Alfs dream, Tevir have already delivered 3 great projects so have track record. Interesting to know who’s going to run hotel.

Looks great, if they can prove funds available to complete the project, should be given fast-track planning and commence building ASAP.

There is another report which is highly likely to raise hackles, which relates to a fund to develop where any firm developing can claim 25% funding from the DfE. Apartments at Lake Road and the redevelopment of the Ocean Castle Site in Port Erin. These have apparently been approved in principle. Whilst developing is a good thing, the idea that the IOMG favoured developers are subsidised to redevelop derelict sites which they left derelict, into high end luxury apartments will upset many people. Especially when there is a shortage of FTB, social housing and affordable housing in general. At yet there is no money for healthcare ……..

There are three. One in Port Erin, Lake Road and Tevir. Hence my £50mill in bungs comment

Would there be anything left in the kitty? Or if any other company has a genuine business case and idea, to develop, would they be told, sorry nothing left.
