American Gangster - Fantastic ridley scott does Scorsesce very good. Russell Crowe and Denzel Washington worthy of the $M pay packets

My Rating: ***** + 1

Cold Mountain - Awesome very sad & strange that almost none of the American leads were actually american. great film.

My Rating: *****

Hell Boy II the golden army - very enjoyable hadnt seen first one but it was a decent watch.

My Rating: ***

There Will Be Blood - Daniel Day Lewis the oil man. Avoid this film at all costs, good performances but slow pace although it had some redeeming qualitys it was not a flim i would ever endure again i actually forwarded it through the last scene which i hardly ever do. Not entertaining at all!

My Rating: **

Quantum of Solace. Wasn't really enjoying it for a while, really annoying fast cuts, shakey vid cam hell, almost impossible to see what's going on. Settled down a bit though and liked it in the end, some nice arty bits and not much obvious use of CGI. It's not a bond film though, no gadgets, no jokes, no bond music, no bad guy. Good action flick though if you don't mind that. 4/5

I've been a bit unsure about watching Be Kind Rewind after seeing the review on Film. I think I'll stay clear.

I watched Rec recently which is a very good spanish zombie-style horror film.

I've also been hitting my Del Toro collection, that mans visions are brilliant, Pans Labrynth and The Orphanage are utterly perfect.

Due to some work I'm doing at the moment I've been watching The Exorcist and The Omen a few times.

Still want to see Quantum of Solace and Valkryie (sp.?)

Oh and have been hitting the 80's a bit too, watching The Goonies last night and the Back to the Future trilogy a week ago.
